I had a new bathroom installed and the electrician used a different type of switch, one on which the switches moved up/down instead of left/right. The electrician's switch was much more difficult to move and only had a small swing from off to on. This switch is much smoother and has a longer swing. Having it move left/right instead of up/down was not a bother at all.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jefe Convenient for adding a switch to a single gang box already in use.
This switch accommodates two fixtures to be wired into the same single gang box, which is helpful when remodeling. I have also used two of these switches in the same two-gang box at the back door where traditionally there would have been a bank of four switches and a much larger box to control two outdoor lights and two indoor fixtures.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lucky7 Great dual control light switch
Glad I found this Designer dual control switch. It is much better than my previous design which was the clunky, loud style. As always, be careful when you stuff all the wires into a regular small box. I have had it installed for about one month and still working great.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Homeuser Quality Control on this product has gone downhill
I first bought this model of switch in 2004 (color was almond, not light almond). Earlier this year, the spring mechanism that controls the left-to-right switching broke. I bought a replacement (this switch) and it lasted about 2 months--similar problem. The 2nd replacement lasted just over 1 week. The 3rd lasted only 5 days. When the first replacement failed, I thought it was my fault. Maybe I tighten the screws too much. So, with each of the next two, I snugged up the screws just so they would stay in place. However, because they failed, I don't think it was my fault.
I then gave up on this model of switch. I installed the more traditional version of this switch and it has worked just fine for about a month now. HD was very understanding at the returns desk and had no hassles when exchanging these defective switches. HD should return all of their stock on these switches until Leviton fixes the manufacturing problem.
Please note that the housing on the back is about 1/8" longer than the older version of this switch (which I bought in 2004). I had to use my rotary tool and a sandstone bit to grind down the metal tabs of the box in order to have enough room to install the switch.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by John Looks Great, BUT...
The switch looked great and installed easier, but sure wasn't built like the old toggel switches.
With in 9 months, 2 of the 3 I purchased broke (within a week of each other).
While they are guarenteed for two years, I don't want to keep replacing them every 9 months.
A small plastic piece that holds the toggel switch breaks and then the switch is on all the time.
I called Leviton, and they said they don't make one of these in a better quality.
