Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for adding an outlet in a pantry/closet Instructions on the box showed how to wire the combo in two ways. Switched outlet or constant power outlet. However, the box instructions failed to show that the existing wires would have to be spliced with pig tails. Two separate circuits can be created this way. I followed this youtube video and was able to wire it with constant power to the outlet. July 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Poor instructions for a good product. The outside packaging says, "Outlet may be wired for switch control or constant power; see instructions for specific wiring diagrams." Well, if you want the outlet to be controlled by the switch, the instructions (printed inconveniently on the inside of the box!) don't tell you how. There are two wiring diagrams; one for "switch controls light only," and one for "switch and power outlet on separate circuits" (an uncommon need I think). It seems obvious in retrospect, but to wire this device so the "switch controls the light _and_ the outlet" on a single circuit, you must wire the line (hot) to the left side of the switch and the load (hot) to the right side of the switch. (This is the reverse of the "switch controls light only" diagram). Leave the break-off fin intact. January 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice design, but no instructions... The video on the website for this product shows how to wire a single switch.. that is totally different than a product. The instructions on the inside the box don't show you how to wire the thing also! January 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Exactly as Promised This device does exactly as advertised. The prior reviewer said having the switch NOT control the outlet would be "an uncommon need" but that's exactly what I needed. This device meets the needs as described on the web site, so I don't know why it shouldn't receive 5 stars. March 12, 2013
