Customer Reviews

Trimitron 600-Watt Electro-Mechanical Push Dimmer, White is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value Simple to install with supplied wire nuts. Why do dimmers like this use wires instead of direct screw terminals? The body was shallower (about 3/4") than older models making it easier to stuff into the box. This is a turn-to-off model, not a push on/off. Having said that, the action was smooth without the wobble that the push types have. Both a white and ivory knobs mean I can match the coverplate without having to order the correct option ahead of time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toggle entry switch use This push on/off dimmer switch operated the island kitchen lights that are also the preferred lighting switch upon home entry. We loved it and has lasted over ten years used at every meal and return home from work. That's a lot of use. A great choice for boxes with short wires, it has it's own. Yes, the dial dimmers have mechanical wear not unlike their paddle relatives; the pole to module is very well constructued with virtually zero wobble and dependable returns from repeated pressing. Never had a problem sticking, blown lights, or breakers. The kitchen cooking environment along with dust might have contributed to this freak example to it's contacts, 10 years is a long case study.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from do not buy, 3 way version does not last forever do not buy, 3 way version does not last forever, have replaced two of these all within 5 years in which both started to not dim the circuit correctly anymore without completely shutting off the lights after barely turning the knob.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted about a year and a half. I liked the push knob because we have used them in the past and I liked their functionality. This one is not durable however. Our house was built in 1978 and most of the light switches are the originals. This knob dimmer switch lasted about a year and a half.
