installation instructions

Is it possible to get a look at the bottom mount installation instructions? I've found the side mount instructions which are not real clear, but I can see more or less how they work. Also are there a guide or instruction on how and what to measure to determine which slide guides to purchase?

Will these work for flush, inset drawers?

I want to use these slides for inset drawers (where the drawer front is flush to the frame of the cabinet). Do these slides offer a way to "stop" the drawer from pushing too far into the cabinet (since the drawer front won't do that).
Asked by: disney1981
Hello Disney1981, This model of slide does have a physical “stop” feature at the rear of the slide to prevent the drawer from over-closing, but we would not recommend using it as the only safeguard for stopping a fully inset drawer. Lighter drawers may “bounce” when they reach the stop at the end of the slide. In addition this style of slide is not designed for the level of fine adjustment needed to allow a fully inset drawer front to stop perfectly level with the frame, which could cause an uneven appearance when closed. 131/2 inch drawer--will 12" work?

My drawer is 13 1/2" -- will the 12" slide work all right?
Asked by: Clueless
The answer depends upon the type of cabinet it is being installed in. For a frameless cabinet the slide can be attached directly to the interior wall of the cabinet so a 12” should work well. In a face frame cabinet the slides will need to be supported by sockets (sold separately) in the rear of the cabinet, a 12” slide may not be long enough to reach the sockets at the rear of the cabinet. We would recommend measuring the interior depth of the cabinet and using the next smallest slide length available (ie for a 15” cabinet a 14” slide would be the best choice). I hope this helps. Kind Regards, emccollum

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent (IF YOU INSTALL CORRECTLY) These will make your drawer slide gently and freely like air! BUT, only if you install it correctly, meaning make sure you them exactly lined up, and make sure they are level. Our house came with these on all the drawers, and many of our drawers have problems because whomever installed them did a bad job, not because of the rails. MAKE SURE THE rails ARE LEVEL and have the appropriate amount of space between themselves and the drawer/wall (or mounting stud), and they will work PERFECTLY like an expensive set of steel ball bearing slides for a fraction of the cost. Of course, I built my own drawers and the rails I mounted them on, so I was easily able to adjust those factors. I turned some fake drawers into real drawers in my kitchen using these rails. I would recommend these rails (just make it a perfect fit and also level and your drawer and it will glide perfectly using these rails)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This will become my standard drawer slide There is nothing fancy about these slides, all they do is work as described, and that they do very well. I just finished a 4- drawer utility cabinet with the 18 inch slides yesterday, and I'm looking forward to the 7-drawer-12-inch project that's on my list for today. Just follow the (very simple) instructions. These slides almost extend full length, are self-closing and run smoothly, for a fraction of the costs of telescoping slides. They are also really easy to install: If you build a cabinet, you can install the halves that go on the side walls first, before assembling the cabinet, while the work piece iis still flat on your workbench. Same for the halves that go on the drawers - mount them on your workbench, and then just slide the drawer into the cabinet..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good basic drawer slides Easy enough to install with a level, pencil, and electric screwdriver. Just mount the rails on the drawer and follow the instructions for mounting the front of the slides to the opening. You can then slide in the drawer while supporting the back of the drawer and rails, level, mark the holes, remove the drawer and mount the backs. Economical and solid, but be careful not to strip the tiny philips head mounting screws.
