Questions & Answers

how do you remove the drawers once these are installed?

Asked by: DJ_Banks
There's a plastic lever on each slide that needs to be rotated up/down, then you just pull the slide out.

Are these auto closer type sliders?

So when the drawer reaches a few inches from the cabinet, they will automatically close on their own.
Asked by: Hockeyblade
Sorry, these are not self closing.

what is the best position on the drawer for mounting these slides, top, middle, or bottom?.

Most drawings show middle of drawer but can you mount the slides on the to edge or bottom edge?
Asked by: wood2stock
They'll work in any of the positions. Pretty much whatever fits your cabinet/drawer best.

Seem to be tight but measurements are correct, drawer is 1" less than opening. Would WD40 or something else help?

Asked by: Hopper21
I'm guessing the surfaces the slides are mounted on aren't exactly parallel. Either that, or you could plane a hair's width off of the drawer width.

14 in. Full Extension Ball Bearing Side Mount Drawer Slide (1-Pair) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 68.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Smooth Drawer Slide I have used this type and brand of drawer slides on multiple drawers with great success and satisfaction. Aligning them in the center of the drawer sides makes them easy to install, as opposed to bottom or side mount rails that can give very little room to insert the screws. The ball bearings allow the drawer to slide smoothly. In a dusty environment (shop, garage, etc) if the slides start to "drag", just apply a little spray lubricant to the ball bearings to make them work like new. Just note, these slides require 1/2" of space between the outside of the drawer sides and the casing on both sides.

Over the years and due to the weight of the contents, the original slides eventually gave out. These were the basic cheap roller type. Rather than taking the easy way out with the same type, I decided to try these. I added 3/4" wood spacers to each side of the inside cabinet to bring the slides out even to the opening. Since the drawer needed to be narrower now, I decided to make a new drawer to take advantage of being able to make it 4" longer. Everything went together easily and it works great. The only problem with these slides is that my wife liked it too much and know she wants the same on all the other drawers. -- Yes Honey, I can do that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from wouldnt reccomend to use these for a drawer of feathers I am building a set of custom cabinets and in these cabinets is 1 drawer per side. I have broke 2 rails thus far and lets just say im 17 years in the industry and im getting very frustrated with the quality of everything. I mean 5 bearings popped out of 1 side from the flimsy tabs holding them in anf the other rail broke at the lever part to engage the soft close. So i would say if anything were to go wrong these two things are the most common. Luckily for me i experienced both. Good luck!

The instructions are not fully descriptive. I am not a complete novice. I am not a carpenter. So, when they didn't work the first time, I thought it was me. Did it again. Ugh. 3rd time, they are still not working. OK, if I did something wrong, by the instructions, I'd never know it. I followed them to the letter. I did, however, have to combine the directions as I was having to use the sockets (which, by the way are cheap junk). I exchanged three times because the store didn't know what size to use (though I had photos and measurements of cabinet and drawers.) After all that, to have them not work is a huge let down. I have spent days on this stupid project only to have to start over from square one. Taking them back to the store is far from what I ever envisioned.

It took the better part of the day and 2 trips to Home Depot to get the job done. During the installation, we went back for the bracket that holds the far end up (our cabinets don't have side walls close to the drawers in many places), and decided to pick up a second pair for another drawer. Really glad we did. After we got the first one installed, we couldn't get the drawer all the way shut, and the self-close mechanism wasn't working at all. Luckily, with the second in hand, we could see what went wrong and correct it. So, the slide is fine, and the closing is fine. Getting the drawer open is another story. Our drawers do not have pulls, instead they have lips to grab with your fingertips. I practically rip my fingernails off every time I open the drawer. So, I think if you have drawer pulls, you will like these just fine. We will be returning ours, and continue our search.

I have had some difficulty getting drawers to work smoothly if use the release and take the drawer out of the cabinet and then put it back! Most problems can be fixed by using the screw holes that are in the U shaped cutout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product! only thing I want to add is that I should have bought a longer one. the slides should run the full depthof the drawer.. as first timer, I was conservative. now I have the deeper part of the 22inch drawer hard to reach. my bad. hope I'm the only one

A bit pricey but this is a top of the line world class product. There are other designs available for less cost but they sacrifice fit function quality and ease of installation.
