From the pictures this does not look self closing. Does it rely on gravity to close the drawer or is there a mechanism built in so the drawer will self close?

Answer:
big dogmg, Thank you for your interest in our product. For this type of slide “self closing” refers to the curve at the end of the slide that uses gravity to close the drawer during the last few inches of travel. I hope this information is helpful. Regards, emccollum

Does this slide stay closed in a moving RV? Does the drawer need to be lifted a bit to pull out, and does it "lock" in closed position?

Our original drawer slides allow the drawer to "settle" into closed position so the drawer will not open when we are traveling in the motorhome. We need to replace the hardware on one side of one of the drawers. Will the 22" self-closing bottom mount drawer slide unit pictured above satisfy this need?

Answer:
For side-mount and center-mount slides, typically measure the distance from the front edge of the cabinet to the inside face of the cabinet back and then subtract 1". For under-mount slides, measure the drawer length. Slides must be the same length as drawer to work properly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Draw slide Watch much better than I thought it would. I was a little concerned about the quality… But it's dirty enough. I would definitely buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent (IF YOU INSTALL CORRECTLY) These will make your drawer slide gently and freely like air! BUT, only if you install it correctly, meaning make sure you them exactly lined up, and make sure they are level. Our house came with these on all the drawers, and many of our drawers have problems because whomever installed them did a bad job, not because of the rails. MAKE SURE THE rails ARE LEVEL and have the appropriate amount of space between themselves and the drawer/wall (or mounting stud), and they will work PERFECTLY like an expensive set of steel ball bearing slides for a fraction of the cost. Of course, I built my own drawers and the rails I mounted them on, so I was easily able to adjust those factors. I turned some fake drawers into real drawers in my kitchen using these rails. I would recommend these rails (just make it a perfect fit and also level and your drawer and it will glide perfectly using these rails)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This will become my standard drawer slide There is nothing fancy about these slides, all they do is work as described, and that they do very well. I just finished a 4- drawer utility cabinet with the 18 inch slides yesterday, and I'm looking forward to the 7-drawer-12-inch project that's on my list for today. Just follow the (very simple) instructions. These slides almost extend full length, are self-closing and run smoothly, for a fraction of the costs of telescoping slides. They are also really easy to install: If you build a cabinet, you can install the halves that go on the side walls first, before assembling the cabinet, while the work piece iis still flat on your workbench. Same for the halves that go on the drawers - mount them on your workbench, and then just slide the drawer into the cabinet..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent, Cheap But Poor Screws Provided Reasonably priced these slides are decent but I wouldn't use them on a high end project. The problem is the screws that come with them. Cheaply made they strip out easily. If you use these slides, buy some decent quality screws while you're there. It is will save you a lot of curse words.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good basic drawer slides Easy enough to install with a level, pencil, and electric screwdriver. Just mount the rails on the drawer and follow the instructions for mounting the front of the slides to the opening. You can then slide in the drawer while supporting the back of the drawer and rails, level, mark the holes, remove the drawer and mount the backs. Economical and solid, but be careful not to strip the tiny philips head mounting screws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Product The 20 in. European Self-closing drawer slides were very easy to install. Make sure that everything is plumb, level and square and it will be right the first time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Drawer Bracket Fit very nicely. Easy to put on. Drawers roll smoothly and do not fall out when fully opened. Would not recommend for drawers that require a heavy load. I have them on chest of drawers that just contain a few clothes.
