Customer Questions & Answers

How to get my drawer to shut?

My drawer is hitting the back mounting bracket. Most of the other brackets I have seen online have a bracket that is open on the side of the drawer, so that the drawer will slide in nicely. This bracket is enclosed all the way around, so my drawer won't close all the way because it hits the plastic.
Asked by: Morgan
They make a "L" bracket for rear mount for these slides. Ask for "L" brackets and match to size you need.

Are the contents of one package enough to mount 2 drawers?

Liberty Slide Face Frame Kit (2-Pack) the photo only shows parts for one drawer. The package I saw in a store only had parts for one drawer. The description says 2 -pack.
Asked by: Anonymous
The contents of one package are enough to complete one drawer install.

Face Frame Slide Kit (2-Pack) is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 9.

I used these with the Liberty 22" Soft Close Drawer Slides and (with quite a bit of extra work) was able to get them to work. First, I had to add a 1 inch board to the back of my cabinet or the socket wouldn't reach my slide. Installing the rear socket required considerable trial and error as the alignment must be perfect both vertically (using a level) and horizontally (using a tape measure). I found I would screw in the rear socket, test the slide, and then move the rear socket again. Be careful screwing in any of these pieces as the plastic is quite soft and an impact driver might damage them. Finally, after getting the alignment perfect, I found that the rear socket was still interfering with the drawer! I ended up hacking away at the back corner with a jigsaw until there was enough clearance. My picture shows the end result. The drawer slides work perfectly now with the soft close and everything. With the amount of trouble I had with this product, I may just use a 1X4 with pocket holes to install the slide on the next time I do this. I am unsure of how much of my extra work was because of my mistakes as an inexperienced user and how much is simply a poor design. Hopefully this is a little helpful.

These sockets interfear with the drawers at the rear and will not let them close. I had to shorten my drawers to make them work. A real pain. The plastic is very weak and half of the screw holes cracked open when I tightened the screws by hand. These are the only sockets available for Liberty Drawer slides according to Customer service. Dont buy these. Get something made of metal. I have 24 of these and they are all going back to the store. The drawer slides also as the slides and sockets need to be a matched set. There could not have been much research and development done by this company. They are cheap. They only got one star because I could not chose no stars.

As everyone here has indicated, you cannot close the drawer all the way because it will hit the bracket... they should simply indicate what the depth of drawer to cabinet requirement should be and this would not be an issue. Why let someone buy this with such an obvious fault? All other legitimate manufacturers of soft close slides offer metal hardware with an open end towards the drawer to prevent this. I would give this zero stars if I could.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't work for soft close slides These appear to be the only option for rear mounting our new liberty slides. After installing we discover they cover up the soft close mechanism, not allowing the drawer to close right. Very frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only option, horrible material, half broke upon install These brackets are the only option for installing Liberty's slides to a face frame cabinet (which most off the shelf, pre-made cabinets are). They are made of injection molded plastic which warps and the rear portion that gets screwed into the back of the cabinet breaks when the screws are fastened into the six holes (the material is crushed by the screw torque, and yes I understand you have to take it easy and not use an impact driver, either way you do it, the plastic is worthless in this application). I spoke with customer service at Liberty who explained they used to make metal brackets but no longer do, I asked her to inform her engineering dept of this issue as the slides themselves are very well made, heavy and should have metal supporting them. She mentioned that plastic is used to allow the rear bracket to flex when the drawer is opening or closing to which I replied, flex should not be an issue if they are properly installed, spaced, and leveled. She sent out free replacements at no charge which was very nice, so Liberty gets an A+ for customer support, but I hope their engineering department at least provides the option in the future for metal if desired.
