How to get my drawer to shut?

This question is from Face Frame Slide Kit (2-Pack)

My drawer is hitting the back mounting bracket. Most of the other brackets I have seen online have a bracket that is open on the side of the drawer, so that the drawer will slide in nicely. This bracket is enclosed all the way around, so my drawer won't close all the way because it hits the plastic.

You possibly do not have enough clearance room at the rear of the cabinet, these types of hardware installs can be tricky as they involve lots of measurement and comparing those measurements to available options. You also may have the rear brackets mounted too close together which creates a pinching effect as the drawer shuts, I had this in one smaller drawer as there wasn't much room in the cabinet to work with, the measurements they provide on the instructions are not correct, it's basically a guessing game upon install. Answer:
Each package has hardware for one drawer (so two of each bracket as there are two sides to the drawer). You need one kit per drawer just like when you purchase the slides.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Only option, horrible material, half broke upon install These brackets are the only option for installing Liberty's slides to a face frame cabinet (which most off the shelf, pre-made cabinets are). They are made of injection molded plastic which warps and the rear portion that gets screwed into the back of the cabinet breaks when the screws are fastened into the six holes (the material is crushed by the screw torque, and yes I understand you have to take it easy and not use an impact driver, either way you do it, the plastic is worthless in this application). I spoke with customer service at Liberty who explained they used to make metal brackets but no longer do, I asked her to inform her engineering dept of this issue as the slides themselves are very well made, heavy and should have metal supporting them. She mentioned that plastic is used to allow the rear bracket to flex when the drawer is opening or closing to which I replied, flex should not be an issue if they are properly installed, spaced, and leveled. She sent out free replacements at no charge which was very nice, so Liberty gets an A+ for customer support, but I hope their engineering department at least provides the option in the future for metal if desired. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Necessity When installing the liberty ball bearing type soft close slide rails, these kits are a must for the type of cabinets where the space is not confined to the drawer. February 13, 2016
