How to get my drawer to shut?

My drawer is hitting the back mounting bracket. Most of the other brackets I have seen online have a bracket that is open on the side of the drawer, so that the drawer will slide in nicely. This bracket is enclosed all the way around, so my drawer won't close all the way because it hits the plastic.
Asked by: Morgan
I had the same problem. I purchased a vanity and wanted to upgrade the drawer slides to be self-closing. The sockets that Liberty sells for this kind of application worked fine on the top drawer, which did not extend to the back of the cabinet. The sockets did not work on the bottom drawer, because the bottom drawer was deeper and would hit the plastic fitting before the drawer could fully retract. There are a number of ways to work around this problem, but as far as I can tell, Liberty does not sell a bracket/socket that is suitable for this application. My solution was to use a Dremel to cut the plastic off the inside edges. Enough plastic remained to hold the slides in place, but the plastic that interfered with the drawer closing was removed.

Are the contents of one package enough to mount 2 drawers?

Liberty Slide Face Frame Kit (2-Pack) the photo only shows parts for one drawer. The package I saw in a store only had parts for one drawer. The description says 2 -pack.

The contents of one package are enough to complete one drawer install.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke They broke by the front of the drawer, both sides. This took less than a month.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only option, horrible material, half broke upon install These brackets are the only option for installing Liberty's slides to a face frame cabinet (which most off the shelf, pre-made cabinets are). They are made of injection molded plastic which warps and the rear portion that gets screwed into the back of the cabinet breaks when the screws are fastened into the six holes (the material is crushed by the screw torque, and yes I understand you have to take it easy and not use an impact driver, either way you do it, the plastic is worthless in this application). I spoke with customer service at Liberty who explained they used to make metal brackets but no longer do, I asked her to inform her engineering dept of this issue as the slides themselves are very well made, heavy and should have metal supporting them. She mentioned that plastic is used to allow the rear bracket to flex when the drawer is opening or closing to which I replied, flex should not be an issue if they are properly installed, spaced, and leveled. She sent out free replacements at no charge which was very nice, so Liberty gets an A+ for customer support, but I hope their engineering department at least provides the option in the future for metal if desired.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Necessity When installing the liberty ball bearing type soft close slide rails, these kits are a must for the type of cabinets where the space is not confined to the drawer.
