I live in New England and leave mine out all year long and it still does not leak and works perfectly. When I have all the hose out, 150ft I turn the water off and open the sprayer up to drain the water out of the hose then drag the hose up, with the sprayer still open, close to the reel in several loops, like a coiled snake...it makes winding up that amount of hose a lot easier. Holds up to 250 ft. of 5/8 in. garden hose but its a bit of a chore to roll it all back up. But it is easy to transport from location to location on the property when needed
And yes its all metal..
Had mine several years and just replaced the tires a week or so ago because they would no longer hold any air.

It is a nice unit, but it does have a tendency, no, it definitely will, tip over if you are reeling in a long hose. It would be good if there was a foot rest on the opposite side where you could put your weight on it to prevent it from tipping over. Of course, a hose guide would also be helpful so your hands are not full of dirt guiding the hose from side to side.
As I said, despite the shortcomings, it is a nice unit and I could not find anything better. Good luck.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best purchase ever. This hose reel is heavy duty/durable and easy to use. We water every day and it is not a chore anymore. July 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Have only had it for a month or so, but it seems fine It's well built. But only having had it for a month, it's too early to tell if it will rust or leak. I believe the warrenty on it was 5 years, or maybe more. It definitely seems solid though. Had to roll it down some big rocks, didn't flex at all. Assembly was easy, 15 minutes with a couple normal tools. June 29, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Be prepared to have issues The tires do not hold air and appear to be coming apart. My biggest issue was with the swivel hose connector. It leaked from the day I bought it, but I put up with that. Then it corroded and eventually broke off. Should have been all brass, but looks like junk steel. Found a potential replacement part, but it is a third of the cost of a new one. Hard to find a quality hose reel as they are either plastic junk or cheap Chinese metal junk. August 28, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Rusting Starting to rust one month after purchased, would not recommend September 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not what was promised HD website said in store purchase would have solid tires. The product in store was not a Liberty product but another brand name with the same U-code as stated on the website. I assume that as time goes on I will be dealing with flat tires, etc. Does anyone ever notice that they always want you to rate a product the week after you buy it? How about asking for a rating say 3 years after you buy it? August 30, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Got what I paid for, nothing more. Expectations not exceeded. It was on clearance at a good sale price.....but the low quality matched the low price. The seals leak a lot but I use this unit on my grass so I can live with it. One of the tires is cocked at an angle as the hub is not square to the wheel. Since I don't pull it around the yard much, I can again live with it. If I had paid full price I would have gone thru the hassle of returning it. September 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad out of the box The galvanized "T" was a bad casting right out of the box. Expected Chinese quality, for sure, but the product wasn't even the one advertised. I wanted solid wheels; I got pneumatic. Now I have to put in extra time to get it replaced. Don't buy this rubbish; it's a dice roll August 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hose caddy This hose caddy is awesome . Best I've ever had. It is so easy to real in . Very well made August 16, 2016
