What is the difference between this reel (Model 705) and Model 704, thank you

Asked by: shade10
The main difference is the scroll work design. The crank handle is different on the 705 as well. It has an angle verse coming straight down. They are both cast aluminum hose reels.

Will 100' of 3/4" hose fit on this reel?

Asked by: Needtoknow
It has never been tested. If it does fit, it would be tight. Generally we say deduct 50' of hose. I would be confident to say it can hold 75' of 3/4" hose.

I had an old all plastic hose roll-up unit (AMES) that lasted yeas until sun damage and age broke it down. This one, being all metal, looks great and I expect it to last even longer. It even fit perfect to the old unit holes on the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy construction and durable We bought two, one for the south side, and the north side. After three years continuous use in Kansas, the rubber gaskets failed this summer. Thankfully Liberty has the parts available to order. Nothing lasts forever and a little silicone and maintenance it should last quite a while. The reel is very sturdy and we lag bolted them to the side of the house. One holds 100' of 5/8" and the other has 75' of 5/8" hose without issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Works good for a while..... Like many others here, the non-rotating swivel where the hose attaches to leaks like a sieve now after only 2 years and it's noticeably sloppy and probably wearing on the inside. I will try to get a replacement, but even if I can, it will most likely leak again given this common problem. I've noticed more frequent issues with HD products that I buy. They should look at quality of their products more closely. I'd rather pay a little more for stuff that doesn't fail in a short amount of time, but that seems to be the norm in today's world.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from o rings blow out within 6 months with little use over priced piece of junk on the scrap heap in 5 months maybe home depot should SELL THE O RINGS

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks and Handle Broke This is a very nice looking unit, but like the other reviews have stated, it leaks terribly. I just ordered my 3rd crank handle from the manufacturer, as they break off while reeling in the hose. The material used to make the crank handle is very week. I do not recommend this unit. Remember, you will be mounting this to your home, and within a couple months will need to have it removed do to the reasons mentioned above, leaving you with holes in the side of your home, and a broken unit. Avoid

Rated 1 out of 5 by from AVOID - bad leaks quickly develop I bought model 708, a less expensive version, in April 2013. By October the swivel connector was leaking like a sieve, leaving so much water spraying I could not use it. I called Liberty and they replaced it for free. By August of 2014, the replacement was leaking badly again and I was told after a year, I'd have to pay $16.95 for the part. That's a high price to pay for less than a year's use. AVOID!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Leaky, Leaky, Leaky The swivel connector will start leaking badly. there are two rubber rings that will wear out quickly. Nice aesthetics, bad engineering. Now, do I fix, or replace?
Date published: 2015-06-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from maintenance issues After use outside in northeast NJ drips from attached hose at reel connection. All parts needed to fix are available and are not standard sizes. They must be bought from manufacturer on line. After 4 years hose had wear hole in it from rubbing against frame. It works well. Hose must be drained to crank up easily. Fits 50 feet.
