The Liberty Soft Close Dampers are small units measuring only 1-7/8" long by 11/16" wide by 1-13/16" high, two screw holes for either left or right door installation, chrome finish, brim goes around the entire front, adjustment screw in back.
Installs in a matter of minutes by holding the damper in place, drilling a 1/4" pilot hole with a 3/32 drill, fasten with screw. Brims on the damper help keep the unit from moving when the door closes. Turn the adjustment screw to your desired closure, you're done.
The before and after difference is remarkable, from a loud banging, to barely a whimper when the door closes. Highly recommend this product.

I was skeptical about these cabinet door soft close devices, but I have to admit they work great. They are easy to install with only one small screw; I put all ten in in less than 10 minutes. And they work instantly just like the high priced soft close cabinets everyone wants now. I didn't have to adjust any of them, but I played with the adjustment screw as a test and it works well, too. The instructions say to use two for heavy doors, but my doors are pretty heavy (42" uppers) and they are way strong enough for them. This is a really cool thing someone could put in and surprise a loved one with; you know, for extra credit. They seem to be built strongly, but I'll update this review in a month or so. They don't take up much space, but they are visible and obvious when the door is open. No problem for me.
I highly recommend them.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Susan Change OK cabinet doors to something fantastic!
These cabinet door soft close dampers do exactly what they should and are so easy to install. I installed the dampers on some inexpensive cabinetry in our laundry room. The doors banged when we shut them. I was just waiting for something to break. Now, no more stress and we didn't have to change our behavior. Our family still does the slamming action, but the doors close gently...and all the way!
The damper casing is all metal so I expect that it will last for the life of the cabinets!

Very easy to install. Make sure you predrill to keep your cabinet from cracking when you install the screw from the damper.
This product works excellent if you have the correct hinge on your cabinet. You must have cabinets that have hinges that hold the door closed(spring loaded auto closing door hinge). If it does not have the correct hinge then the door will not close.
I installed on my kitchen cabinet doors and it works perfect, even if I try to slam the door. The only problem I found is that some of the hinges were kind of worn in this 8 year old house. The cabinets that we use most kind of lost their function of holding the door closed properly as the hinges were worn out a little. I found that on those door with the worn out hinges, the door did not want to close with the damper in place. It was no problem, I just bought some new hinges for those doors(they were the cheap hinges that the cabinets came with) and all doors and dampers working perfect.
I love not hearing those doors slam anymore.
Now if they only made one that would stop the neighbors stupid dog from barking.

I bought 30 of these for all the cabinet doors in our house. They're quick to install and work as advertised. The largest doors (16" x 48") needed 2 to control the weight of the door. (The cabinets are all solid wood. Particle-board doors would be heavier and might need more damping.) I'm very pleased with the result.

I'm not really a do it yourself person, although i try to be, which sometimes ends up costing more. That said, yes, these are plastic, and are "chrome plated" (more like chrome colored). I didn't buy these for the color, i bought them for the feel of modern cabinets, and they do not disappoint. Pre drilling was essential on my older Kraftmaid cabinets, but i broke off 3 drill bits in the process (incredible hard wood). I had 20 doors to do, and some of them were challenging. In the end though, i could probably do 1 door in 2 minutes, if all went perfect. So they are "easy" to install. Adjusting them is easy, and some doors didn't close all the way due to the stiffness of the existing hinges, while others closed perfectly. Bottom line, my wife LOVES them. They do EXACTLY what i thought they should, my expectations were definitely met, and i can highly recommend them to others. Once installed, there is never a reason to touch them, so the low quality shouldn't matter. While not thrilled with the price, they are cheaper than replacing my cabinets, or even just the doors, so i can't complain, although i will. If the slamming of your cabinet doors are bothering you (which they might be and you don't even know it), it is worth giving these a try. Its a really nice improvement on our kitchen now.
