This lives up to expectations for my 1100 sq ft home, which is not all open space. It seems to keep the other rooms at a comfortable temperature as well. I usually close my office door and warm my main area up from the 68 economy setting to 70 at night for a while. Then, I lower it back to 68 before I go to bed and that seems to help stabilize the temperature throughout the night. My gas heater comes on sparingly that way and the cost is substantially lower so far this winter. It took me a bit to figure out the best way to utilize and maximize use for the temperature as well as for economy and comfort. Overall I'm quite happy with the quality and certainly the value.

I bought this for our bedroom along with the Lifesmart Air Commander for the living room. This unit works really well. The key with these heaters is to understand they warm slowly but once they do it's a great kind of warmth. My wife likes it because it does not dry out the air. I found that if you start out on hi and bring the room up to 68 degrees and flip it to the eco setting it maintains our bedroom at night at 68 on only 500 watts. We also thought it was a great value compared to our furnace.

Bought fall of 2012 - used all winter. Intended to heat 450 square foot room. Slab construction, 6 inch walls. Room will remain at 60 or above with no heat. This heater will raise an additional 4-5 degrees if it runs for 2-3 hours. Good as a feet warmer sitting in front of my recliner. My only complaint is the fan is too noisy. Plug and cord remain cool during operation.

We live in North Alabama in a large A-Frame. Although we don't experience the coldest winter's, it can get pretty chilly at times. In fact, our low last night was 19 degrees with even colder temperatures coming next week. When it gets this cold, both gas furnace's seem to run non=stop. We put this unit in the Great Room and another in the kitchen on the middle level. I was surprised to see both gas furnace's actually turn off at times. Even at 23 degrees! Hasn't happened in the 21 years we've been here. I would have rated this unit a 5 but, there is some noise. I guess this is normal. In fact, I just ordered another one for my workshop downstairs. Will see what the natural gas bill looks like this winter. Would certainly recommend this heater.

Bought this heater on sale for 70 bucks to supplement a older heat pump system that has become unreliable and I can't afford to replace right now. I don't think it will keep 1500 sq ft at a comfortable temperature but it does keep my 900 sq ft mobile home toasty warm. The termostat control is reliable and works great. I set the heater for 78 degrees and it was 19 degrees outside and it keeps my mobile home very comfortable.

I love this heater... We have a roughly 400 sqft room addition which is all glass and hence can get cold at times here in the Kansas City area. There are no vents leading from the rest of the house and the room had previously been heated only with a 220V GE "hotel style" room unit. This worked fine until the heating component of the GE unit stopped functioning. Rather than pay the high repair cost, we opted to try this Life Smart 1500 watt unit. I didn't for a second expect a $100 unit to actually replace the $2,000+ GE model which had broken, but we decided to try leaving a door open to the room, sharing the heat from the rest of the house, and testing various settings on the heater to see if it would work as an "add on".
The heater has performed exceptionally! On the coldest nights so far, (-10 degrees) when on the high setting, it kept the room acceptably comfortable (I wouldn't say warm but reasonable. Closer to 60-65 degrees.). Most winter nights I only put it on the ECO 750 Watt setting and it works perfectly. In the morning, when we're using the room, I put it back on high as needed.
The product is exceptionally well made and designed. The control panels are straightforward and the remote works well. It is attractive and comes with a heavy duty cord. There are well-designed safety features built in like the temperature lock, (to keep kids from playing with the controls) tip over shut-off, and a delayed shut off,.(which keeps the fan running after you've turned it off to make sure the unit is cool.)
The unit has run constantly since we bought it in early November and has shown no sign of wear or weakening. The fan runs a constant speed and is soothingly quiet (The temp is actually controlled by the thermostat adjusting the wattage, not the fan speed. as some other units do.)
I as a handyman sort of guy, have really been impressed with the simple and reliable design of this unit and would highly recommend it to someone with a similar need as ours.

Long winter - burner running constantly - lost heat three times during these bad storms in N.J. After the second episode of many heatless hours, we decided to take a chance on this heater. My daughter had purchased two for her home in Delaware. I've always been afraid of just the thought of space heaters. No more. Our heat went out for five hours Monday - NEW burner actually needed a part. My husband and I sat comfortably in the living room with sixty-eight degrees heat - soul-warming/body-warming heat. This unit is so easy to use - simple directions (even for me - and I am 76) - attractive - matches my furniture - small in size - I should have done this a long time ago.
