I am an HVAC person, and I live in a house with baseboard heat. I tried the ceramic heaters, but they did not cut the mustard. I saw this on the Home Depot site. It was the only one that said 1800 sq ft. The price was worth trying. Since we bought this, we are so happy and cozy! We keep it at 65F, and it outdoes the two ceramic heaters at the same amps 2:1. I would definately recommend this to anyone. Just remember to clean the filter.

At the time of my order, this heater had a 4.5 star rating which gave me the incentive to purchase two of them. I feel that was misleading, especially since the rating has since dropped quite a bit and the heaters have been discontinued. First of all, the fan is dreadfully noisy. Secondly, the heater is inadequate to heat even the small living room in my tiny 980 square foot home (which, incidentally, has been weatherized and is nice and snug). Thirdly, the cabinetry is shabby and poorly finished. Fortunately, I am only using these heaters as supplemental heat, but I am waiting to see if the power bill justifies the amount of heat I'm getting from them.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by kay2 This product for the most part, is a good value
The heater seems to be well built with good built in safety features. It is quite and the quality of construction is good. I only have one complaint and that is won't heat 1800 sq. ft. as advertized. Once a room (somewhat less than 1800 sq. ft.) is heated using a different method, this heater may maintain that level of temperature in one or two open attached rooms, but in my experience, it won't maintain that temperature for 1800 ft. in several detached rooms. This is especially true if there is a vaulted ceiling. I haven't tried the heater when the temperature drops into the single digits.

I bought this for my efficiency apt., and it works great. I have to turn my heat off at night when I work, so I program the heater to come on an hour before I get home. The apt. is comfortable when I get home. The only thing I wonder about it the thermostat in it. When I have it set on Eco, it is supposed to maintain the room temp at 68 degrees but I think even when it reaches that, it will still click off and on. I've had to turn it off to keep it from getting the room too warm. Also, last week, I saw this heater for sale at another store for $99!!

We used this unit to heat our entire second floor apartment. It will not heat uniformly around corners obviously. It can be noisy due to resonance in the metal air chamber. Also the default setting when first turning it on or after you have unplugged it to move to another location is high on 86 degrees. You then have to lower the temperature using the remote. A better default setting would be the medium setting at 70-72 degrees.
Overall, it delivered the goods for a fair price.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bmorten Does not heat well at all.
I read the reviews from the web site and was impressed that it was supposed to heat 1800 square feet. I thought that would be great since my house is small and only 1400 square feet. I would rather have this heater running than my heat pump. First, it cannot possibly heat 1800 square feet. My living room is where I put the heater and frankly it does not really keep that room warm enough. I was very disappointed in this heater. And the month I used the heater, my electric bill went way up. Haven't used it since. I haven't taken it back yet, but that is my intention. I would not recommend purchasing this heater. Guess, it really doesn't matter what I recommend since Home Depot has wisely discontinued this heater. I really have to wonder who has been writing all these great reviews for this heater???

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kristi Great heater
We have a fairly large living room and I can set the temperature and within a few hours, the room will be the temperature I set the heater for. It does take a few minutes for the heater to warm up and to begin to put out heat, but the radiator heater we were using was way slower than this one. The box said there is a washable air filter. There were no instructions on where the filter is or how to wash it. I didn't deduct a start because I didn't buy the heater for that reason.

Great product! This heater is one of the best I have purchased. I have about 1,100sq ft. between my living room and hallway/bathroom. This space heater kept the heat constant and heated up the room effectively. The rollers on it made moving it nice and easy. This was a nice $50 cheaper than a similar one I got at costco; already returned that because it had shorted out.
