Answer:
We do not recommend altering the shed in any way. Alterations can void the warranty on the altered part. Also, the wall panels are 3/4" thick and there are air vents in the gables on the shed to allow air flow.

Answer:
We recommend either a cement foundation or a wooden frame foundation. The footprint of this model is 124.25"width x 244"depth. We recommend having a foundation that will fully support the entire floor of the shed.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Instant storage! We needed extra storage, fast. It's extremely important to put this on level concrete and we already had the space. It is made in the USA and of high quality. We hired two contractors to put it together and it took 3 full days. It is put together with screws which must be hand tightened to avoid melting the plastic or stripping the holes. In addition, this is not thoroughly waterproof out the box, which we required. I sealed the outside of all the windows and skylights with 100% 2x stretch exterior silicone. It's raining now and everything is dry inside. It's attractive too - we are very happy. March 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy & spacious shed Read reviews of others, and it convinced me to purchase this shed, permits are a nonsense in my city (120sf & 8ft tall), but it was easy to install. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Storage Building I really needed the extra space to store motorcycles and bicycles as my 10x12 garden shed just was not doing the job. This building was easy to assemble by myself and was only a fraction of the cost of a wood framed structure. The big bonus is it looks great too! February 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Study and Nice Looking Before purchasing this shed I wasted my $$$$ each year for extra storage space. As a handyman I Iove the convenience of having the shed away from my garage. I lived in S California area with great amount of sunlight year round. So far The shed is a well worth investment for my last 3 yrs to accommodate my extra power tools and household stuff for my handyman and woodworking hobbies. I dump those low-roof metal sheds which got rusted, wobble, and leak after few years. This steel-framed shed has been withstanding well few wind (as high as 40-50mph) days per year in my area. I originally bought this shed in shorter version and then bought the extension kit with the extra truss kit set to make it 11x21. The extra truss also help to support styrofoam panels that I put in as insulation. With the help of a standing fan I can work in the shed on a mild summer day. I built a 6-in high raised floor topping with 1 sqft pavers. Make sure you read the instruction first and take time to prepare a well-level floor. It is a big payoff to complete assembling your shed structurally. With Google Map it looks great from bird-eye view. Based on its shape and condition, my visitors did not realize I have this shed for over 3 yrs. My two complaints (1-star off) 1. The arm to support the railing of middle section of the door latch could be easily got broken if someone does not know how to unlatch it from the top of the railing guide. I did have to ask Lifetime to send a replacement. Eventually I have to post a sign in an obvious place to warn user 2. Door latch: On a warm or windy day, due to PVC expansion or pressure change , the door latch could come loose which can leave the door open unintentionally. To prevent small animals can get in, I mounted two additional outside latches to ensure the doors are always locked regardless weather condition. February 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Garage/Shed Price was right. Just what I needed. Easy to set up except doors. Took 48 hours. 18 by self, 26 with two people, and 4 hours with 4 people. Really need two or three adults to set up door or two husband and wife teams. Mounted on concrete so can use as garage. Concrete cost as much as the shed. Possibly because I was in a hurry. You will probably need a ramp. Shed is plastic with metal ribs. Shed when set up was skewed by about 1 inch. Recommend you add 1 inch to the total length and width so there is no overhang if your set up is a little skewed. Several builders (we are doing our kitchen) have commented they wanted to know where I got this shed. May 30, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nice we bought the 11x21 shed and its great. yes make sure your floor is level. read the instruction first and they are in Box 1 of 5. it took 2 of us over three days just because we didn't want anything missing. its a sturdy, nice looking shed. very happy with it. Now the down fall about it, you have to open every box for the floor. each box have 2-4 pieces of the flooring, each box has the walls and the roof. they should have had one box all the floor and 1 or 2 boxes the walls and the roof. it was a big mess in the yard. but oh well its up. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by so far so good Unfortunately, ive not been able to assemble and enjoy this shed yet due to a contractor delay with pouring the pad. However, i found this shed at multiple locations and home depot had the best price by far. I did want an 60" extention kit that home depot does not carry though i was able to purchase that directly from Lifetime. It shipped here fast and the driver put it in my garage for me. I rad several reviews before purchasing which i believe will be helpful when i am able to assemble. November 11, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by had to return didn't meet MN building codes Unfortunately it didn't make it out of the box. We had to get the building plans from manufacturer which they promptly sent in email. Mn building code is snow load is 35 PSF and this is 22.5. There is a third party truss bracing but that gets it to 30. Also MN wind code is 90 mph and this shed is 65 mph. Really excited about shed but the size required a building permit and it didn't meet standards for MN July 8, 2014
