Customer Questions & Answers

Does the construction design of this unit allow you to drive and store a lawn tractor/mower within?

Asked by: Anonymous
I would install a wood floor over the existing plastic and then you can. The doors open wide and leave lots of room for moving large items in and out. I have a full size table saw in mine on rollers and have no issues getting it in and out. Even painted the floor with deck paint and it looks great.

Is there a divider on the inside of the storage unit?

Have been looking for a shed with two access doors to use as a shared space between multiple groups. Do both sets of doors just lead into the whole shed, or is it possible to set up dividers inside the shed so multiple people can use the shed without having access to the whole shed?
Asked by: Anonymous
No divider, the doors just let you enter from different points in case a door is blocked.

15 ft. x 8 ft. Double Door Storage Shed is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 100.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good shed, but not great First really big issue is the instructions are completely worthless. I am a certified aircraft tech of more than 20 years, and I truly struggled with understanding the instructions. I would advise anyone planning on building this shed, to read the instructions thoroughly and more than once. The first step listed is the step that should be the last. More pics of how the assemblies look after being assembled would be most helpful. I had 2 very mechanically skilled people assist me, and it took 3 of us roughly 7 hours with all the preassembly work included. The quality of the shed is good, and I do recommend this product. However, while Lifetime obviously spend lots of time developing the roof support structure, the walls were pretty much ignored. Only 5 screws hold each wall panel together. And the walls are NOT attached to the roof or reinforced in any manner. The snow load concern from Lifetime, seems to be aimed at the walls buckling under the snows weight and not the roofs panels collapsing. I will find out this winter how it holds up. And after complete assembly, the roof is nice and solid, while the walls just flop around if bumped. I will definitely be doing some wall reinforcing with some steel straps or "c" beams. But for dollar to dollar value, I do recommend this shed. I got it on sale for 1685, and the equivalent wood shed would have been over 2500. Add to that having to frequently repaint or treat the wood siding and doors. vinyl is the way to go. Even if I spend some $ on reinforcing the walls, it is still cheaper than a 14x8 wood shed. Thanks to Lifetime for a timely delivery, and the shed does look great. I will wait and see how it weathers the mid atlantic seasons. WIlliam H.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what was advertised Be aware of the "installed" word. that is not the case, as the company "installing" tells you that you need to basically build the foundation and they only come in and assemble the parts. Why would I pay installation and then do half the work? Not only that, but if you want it anchored as it should be, they ask for an additional $40. Home Depot should be clear about "installation"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Shed Difficult to put together even with 3 of us. A lot of screws to install but, that's what keeps everything together. Took 3 days working a Few hours a day. Had problems with door installation and had to partially disassemble roof to fix. Doors still don't stay closed, pops open if padlock not used. Now that it's done it looks terrific and I'm getting rave reviews from friends. I do think it is pricey, especially the extension kits. Construction was during major heat wave and one of my friends assisting was taken to hospital via ambulance after passing out due to heat exhaustion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shed for a great price My wife and I love this shed. Caution that it takes a long time to install yourself. It looks great and directions were fine to follow with one exception. The front door requires one floor peice to be flipped around for the right door post to line up right. Not so clear in instructions. We had shipping issues with the company home depot used by Pittsburgh. After they rescheduled delivery 3 times Home Depot worked with me so that I just went to shipper to pick it up myself. I would recommend this shed very high quality with lots of room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny This is really a great shed! We bought this last November and haven't been disappointed so far. It lasted through a New England winter so no need to worry about the durability. My neighbors and guest have all commented on how great it looks. And my father-in-law a wood working shop teacher was flawed on the features and how well it was designed. With two growing boy I may need to buy another someday in the near future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Shed! Straight up ....12 hours to install. Directions were awful, just like others said...Everything has a number on the part itself but when you do the install guide page by page it goes to letters so there is back and forth trying to find out what they are talking about. Some directions are a bit vague. After you assemble all the trellises, doors and skylights, (about 3 hours) make sure you have enough daylight left, once you start putting up the walls you can't stop until you have the roof attached to some of the trellises to hold the walls more securely in place..they were to unstable (we thought) to let sit overnight in case of a storm blowing through, it would have collapsed the whole thing with one big wind gust. Once you start getting things in place it all falls together nicely. Comes in 3 HUGE boxes heavier than I ever thought it would be especially when you try to get them up steps with a hill (Kudos Home Depot). We made "stations" for parts and it seemed to help with staying organized. Do everything it tells you no matter how much you want to do something different (trellis..screw head IN the tracks)..everything has a reason and purpose even though it’s not clear until 5 pages later. I can say the worst part was the last thing we did and that was installing the shutters!! really...none of them lined up with the shed so we winged it! All and all it was a fun project even in the rain but I would not want to put another one together anytime soon!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Installation disaster Unprofessional Showed up late and left without installing roof. Had to spend hours trying to understand why? Two installers; one of them had no experience installing shed and the other guy in charge installed floor wrong and after putting up walls and frame took entire shed apart in the middle damaging floor seal then spent two hours with pliers trying to get them to join bending plastic beyond limits. I insisted the start over but by then the damage was done. Still unfinished. Ridiculous. Do not do it!

The holes don't match up, making it very hard to put together. The product was poorly made, the oils weren't mixed up completely, there were a lot of defects in workmanship. The instructions weren't clear. The drawings were absolutely unclear and horrible. Product is not strong. Do not put this shed up on a windy day. Parts are missing. I would tell all my friends NOT to buy this product. It is taking a lot longer to put up than it says it will.
