Customer Questions & Answers

How much does model #60014 and #60042 each weigh assembled?

Since 60042 is heavier, is LIfetime using heavier gauge HDPE walls because it's UV resistant or is it just the difference of the shelving hardware, shelf, and extra window?
Asked by: Jdcookie
Theboth weigh about 330 pounds when assembled.

Why is there $50 difference in price between Economy Shed #60014 and Outdoor Shed # 60042? Is it one window vs. two?

Asked by: Anonymous
K Ownes is incorrect. The only difference is the shelving and an additional window. I have been told by a Home Depot rep, who spoke with Lifetime, that the weight home depot listed is incorrect. I am having the shed #60042 delivered right now and the shipping weight, on the invoice, is listed as 387 pounds. Very deceptive, as I am not receiving what I was expecting.

what size does the floor need to be exactly??

Asked by: Anonymous
You can go to Lifetime's website and download a PDF of the instruction manual using the model number of the product you bought. It gives the finished base size in the first 5 or 6 pages.

Does it need to installed on a concrete slab? Will it meet Florida hurricane codes?

Asked by: Anonymous
I would highly recommend installing it on a concrete pad. This lessons the possibility of movement/misalignment over time. You will need to check with the manufacturer for its wind rating; however, I have been through a number of typhoons and would not expect this shed to withstand hurricane force winds.

Customer Reviews

7 ft. x 7 ft. Economy Storage Shed is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! Wow! Lifetime just made a customer for life. My husband and I bought a Lifetime shed a few years ago and it's been great. About 4 weeks ago a Texas Hail (softball sized) storm put holes in the roof of the shed. I called Lifetime to request a replacement part. The agent asked me which part was broken, I explained it was the skylight. He asked for the model number and my address which I gave him. He said no problem the part will be sent to you. I asked if he needed my credit card and what the cost would be, he said there'd be no cost to me and the part should be shipped within 10 business days. Wow!! I still can't believe it. If all companies would step up, like this wouldn't that be something? I guarantee the builder of my home isn't going to buy me a new roof, windows, or doors, because of the hail storm destruction to my house. I will forever be a Lifetime customer. Thank you for making a stressful time a little less stressful. .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very solid product. Highly recommended. The product is very solid and sturdy. Set up procedures a bit complicated, but the instruction is very clear. The packing of the accessories is extremely organized, I have never seen any other vendors have done this before. Highly recommended for people who want to have a medium size garden shed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Met the need and simple to assemble Received the shed in two boxes. Night before putting it together, I pre-assembled as much as possible. Shed went together easily, but sometimes the instructions were hard to interpret, but trial fitting before screwing took care of those issues. I can see if the build surface is not level, this will cause big problems. I used a concrete pad and highly recommend it. Shed has all the room I need and I like the ridgeline skylight. I definitely recommend this Lifetime Shed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Took longer than expected - Beautiful shed though! I read these reviews when I purchased the shed. One of the best things I read was that there was a instructional video on how to put it together. It was helpful but.... it didn't follow the paper instructions. So it confused us when we were putting up the side walls... "slide then pop" and a few other steps. You are better off with the paper instructions but watch the video for helpful tips. Overall, it's a beautiful shed! Took my husband (we are younger 30's) about 6 hours to put it up without breaks. It's a little pricey but hopefully the quality will make it last longer than the cheaper ones!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value, lives up to advertised promise We bought two of these for some needed storage in a tight space at the corner of our property. I found the product to be very well engineered and thought out from beginning to end. It was actually pretty fun to put together. An old Army buddy stopped through town in the middle of setup and jumped right in to help. We were actually able to get re-aquainted through the process. The size of the shed fits the available space very well. I would have had a difficult time building a 2x4 framed shed that would have given the maximum storage for space available that the thin walls of the Lifetime shed allow for. Plus, framed wooden structure may not have been allowable in the same space per local building code. I had drawn up plans for something that may have got better usage of the space, but after estimating the lumber cost and weighing it all out, buying two of the Lifetime sheds ended up being the better, more cost effective option. Plus, if I want to move them later on, it’s do-able. The finished product is very attractive. A couple of areas for product improvement: A little cleaning of the plastic mold waste around the window openings would be nice. It does make the windows fit and seal better although the instructions don't call for it. A bit more positive, tighter fastener especially for the metal to plastic connections would be great. Either a fastener with larger threads or a bit more plastic buildup at the attachment points.
