Answer:
Having a base/foundation for the shed is the responsibility of the customer and does need
to be built prior to the installation company coming out to install the shed.

Plastic shed kit comparison

This question is from 8 ft. x 10 ft. Outdoor Storage Shed

I been comparing same and similar priced ~10 x ~8 foot plastic resin shed. Since our area stores do not have any plastic shed displays I've been unable to look at resin sheds to compare any differences in quality and construction.

After reading various descriptions and reviews I'm unable to determine any differences.

Are all the ~8' x ~10' ~$1000.00 plastic resin shed fairly much all the same? I can see some differences in the less expensive ~8' x 10' plastic sheds.

The three ~8' x ~10' sheds I've been looking at:

Lifetime 8 ft. x 10 ft. Outdoor Storage Shed
Keter Factor 8 ft. x 11 ft. Plastic Outdoor Storage Shed
Suncast Tremont 8 ft. 4-1/2 in. x 10 ft. 2-1/4 in. Resin Storage Shed

I like the idea of having a kit opposed to finding and pricing the materials of building my own wooden shed, but am disappointed in not being able to view and compare the quality and construction of the plastic shed kits. From data available online they all seem fairly well designed for a lay person assemble. However I have no idea from the reviews and pics online of any differences between the sheds, other than the shed's appearance.

I plan to hire someone to set this up. Set up time would be valuable in getting a ballpark figure on what it will cost me.
My next door neighbor and a friend set his up a few years ago. He suggested that if I wanted to do the same, It would be very helpful to have "tall" folks doing it. He, like I are about 5'6".
He had a tough time.
That's why I plan to hire a local handyman contractor to do this job,,,

Thanks

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 238 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Purchase I did a lot of research, watched a lot of videos before starting this project and buying this item. As a non-handyman type person, I was able to educate myself, borrow some tools and build a square and level foundation on blocks. Now to the shed. It came in two large boxes that I was able to move by myself to the back yard with the help of a dolly. One of the boxes was a little beat up but no damage to the shed. I was able to do much of the initial build; i.e., doors, trusses, etc. by myself but needed to enlist the help of my son to really start putting it together. We did it over two days and about 4 hours each day. All together it took about 12 hours which included reading the entire directions a couple of times through very slowly to make sure I understood things. I believe this helped a ton!! The shed looks good, has been dry through a major thunderstorm, and have no regrets about the purchase. I am on a tight budget so this was better than pouring a cement foundation and building a wooden shed. Just as a point of clarity, I am not including the time to build the foundation, level the ground, level the frame, etc. Those things I did over a span of two weekends. I had no experience, no help and had to borrow and or buy some tools. I would definitely recommend Lifetime products from this experience. It has been two weeks and I am definitely happy. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 8 FT. X 10 FT. OUTDOOR STORAGE SHED I hired a Home Depot contract guy to build foundation and install storage shed. Good- Storage shed is built with high density PE material. It looks stronger and more durable than other cheaper brand and come with 1 window, 3 sunroofs, and 3 reinforced steel beams. The price is also reasonable. Bad- 1. plastic door lock is not functional well with many trials and alignments. need further improvement! 2. missing battery touch light in the shipping box as described in Ad video. 3. no options to buy foundation of storage shed. Ugly- take ~12 hours to built pressure treated wood foundation and install the storage shed in a hot humid July day (90-95 degrees). August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Garden Storage Shed Purchased this shed to replace an old wood shed that sat on a 8 x 12 concrete pad. Shed was delivered on time. It took two days to install, by myself (60+ y/o retired guy), with some limited amount of frustration. Really need two people to install the roof panels (one inside and one outside) but it can be done by one, with some ingenuity and cursing. Hot weather didn't help. My advice, for what it's worth, is to watch the on-line videos (the companies and others on YouTube) first. Then read through the instructions and practice dry fitting the parts (for example, putting together the trusses) and then watch the videos again. That will save you some frustration when assembling the various parts later. The instructions make complete sense AFTER you have constructed the shed. I could do a second one in probably half the time now that I have the full picture in mind. Another suggestion - If there is a Home Depot nearby and they have a model shed set up in the parking lot, take the instructions, and your camera, and inspect the HD shed before you start your project. And lastly, if you use a cordless drill to put in the screws - ONLY use it to start the screw - use a regular screwdriver to fully tighten the screw down. That will keep from stripping out the plastic in the holes. Ask me how I know... August 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Shed but a little hard to install Good product overall. The only problem I had was that the names of the parts were different than the names used in the instruction. For example, the bag of the nuts and bolts were called ABC, but the instruction manual called them BXG. It took a while to match up the right parts to use for us. August 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Good shed for the price definitely need a level slab or base had to shim mines in few places went together nicely August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ALl Good, Excellent product Easy to assemble, but takes awhile. Also a Good looking shed, looks Good in the yard. August 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Well built shed but? Shed is very well built but not as easy to put together as noted. Make sure you do have 2 people when putting together. August 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good Shed, Bad Service The shed comes in 2 big boxes that are well packed and parts are well labeled. It takes some time to assemble. Much of it can be done by one person but 2 people are recommended to set some walls and attach the roof panels. Overall, the finished product is worth the price compared to others I researched.
