I love the idea of these lights, but they just lack quality craftsmanship. Worked nicely for a short while, then they sporadically start to flake out. On two sets out of the three I purchased, about 4-5 bulbs in a group malfunction and flicker the wrong color pattern. I should have known an expensive product that only carries a 30 day warranty wouldn't last. Gemmy, the manufacture will not do anything for you once the 30 days is up. :( Too expensive not to last.

I purchased these after X-mas so I got 75% off. Great price so I got 2 sets. The only downside is that you have to preset the pattern on the lights before stringing them together.

I had bought 6 strings to go around the sides and front of my house. Looked and worked great for the first 2 years, then this year I put them up again and 2 of the 6 strings started having problems with them. About 6 to 8 bulbs on each of the 2 strings only showed white not multi colored as the the other bulbs did. Tried to change to different colors on the strings, but those 6 to 8 bulbs remained white. So as with everyone else stating the same type of issues with these, do not buy as this was a waste of 50 per string and I bought 6!!!

I really dislike bashing a product but this one deserves it. The quality and support are terrible. Bought 6 sets last year different lengths that didn't have a remote. I had to take 2 of them back since only 1/2 the strands worked. Also I could only power up 3 strands connected, any more and they wouldn't work. This year I found this remote set and bought it to control all my sets. Once plugged in only the remote set changed. All the other strands did their own thing. Instructions stated that each set must be pre programmed w/ any of the remotes as well as all have the same number of led bulbs in each connected strand. Turns out you need to buy multiple sets of the remote ones. Contacting their support is impossible and I have yet to hear back from last year. Stay Clear!!!

yes, I am that guy... I am not going to win any contests but I have the best decorated house and have these lights to thank, going on 3rd year with them. I have a colonial with mansard roof so I just have these along entire front house, 4 strings total. with some effort I can get them all to sync, I make sure the receiver box sits higher in the gutter and use fresh batteries in remote.
these are RF, (I think) you don't need line of site but all strings/receivers need to be in close enough proximity. I have one string that wraps around the side that can be onerous.
for what they are they are great, bright, vibrant and makes your house stand out. my only criticism is there are several functions that only happen when it does the random/default mode. I wish I could pick some as stand alone like the blue with dancing white and some other combos.
I'm keeping these and not getting the app lights, that is how much I like them.

Bought 3 sets of these lights ( over $50 per set ) to outline the house so they were plugged-in from end to end. It was difficult to change pattern once they were on house (2nd floor). Then first 3 lights on one of the strands stopped responding and broke the light pattern. I posted a comment on Gemmy's Facebook page and 10 hours later I was referred to their website. I went to their website and opened a ticket. Near the end of business that day I called their offices and was redirected back to ticketing process on their website. I asked how long should I expect to wait for ticket assignment and was told they were back down to around 48 hours from over a week wait time. I am now at 57 hours and ticket is still open and has not been assigned to anyone. If you traditionally start decorating after Thanksgiving, this is a considerable percentage of the time frame in my opinion. After reading other reviews for this product, and seeing all the combined requests and comments on their Facebook page - I will stay away from this brand.... as far as I can get. It's much more practical and logical to just return these lights vs. trying to reach a resolution with the vendor. They would be awesome if they were quality lights.
