Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Great... if they worked right
I love the idea of these lights, but they just lack quality craftsmanship. Worked nicely for a short while, then they sporadically start to flake out. On two sets out of the three I purchased, about 4-5 bulbs in a group malfunction and flicker the wrong color pattern. I should have known an expensive product that only carries a 30 day warranty wouldn't last. Gemmy, the manufacture will not do anything for you once the 30 days is up. :( Too expensive not to last.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 123abc poor function/very short life span
My home looked great until 2 out of the 6 strands started to malfunction after the first week of purchase. All hung and plugged in properly along the roof line. There is no fix or maintenance like changing a bulb. Once the receiver and or a LED fails, unfortunately they are garbage. On both strands the first 6 functioned perfectly but the rest never changed or turned off but randomly flickered like a candle. If this manufacturer can fix these issues many are having, I think they would have a great looking product worth buying and hanging up in or around your home.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tripp0305 Looked Great....until I got home.
I bought two of these sets in the store yesterday and one of the two sets did not work. It had three lights in a row with a problem; 2 just would not light at all, and the one in front of them both just flicked which looked like a short like many of the other reviews here said. I figured I would just exchange it, no problem.
I purchased these without even looking online at the reviews and that was a mistake. Now after reading all the reviews I would rather not mess with this product. I did have one issue with the lights. I didn't see any directions or options in the instructions to change a bulb if one goes out prematurely. All other light sets have builds that pull out , but I guess because of the technology of the color changing that would be a problem. This product is too pricey to risk having a few laps burning out before the rated life.
Additionally, I did have something good to say about these lights. I saw a few low star reviews that said that the lights did not sync up. I can tell you that those individuals did not read the instructions. The light set have a memory of the last program they were in. You plug in each light set by itself and pick any program you want, then unplug it, and do the same thing to each additional set. now you have all sets with the same program in the memory....NOW you plug them all in series, and use the remote and all lights will cycle through the programs at the same time. It was pretty spectacular looking seeing both sets fully laid out on the floor. Sadly this is the only positive thing that I can say about this product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MrScott Malfunctioned New - Similar to other reviews - Will avoid ALL Gemmy Products in the future
Bought 3 sets of these lights ( over $50 per set ) to outline the house so they were plugged-in from end to end. It was difficult to change pattern once they were on house (2nd floor). Then first 3 lights on one of the strands stopped responding and broke the light pattern. I posted a comment on Gemmy's Facebook page and 10 hours later I was referred to their website. I went to their website and opened a ticket. Near the end of business that day I called their offices and was redirected back to ticketing process on their website. I asked how long should I expect to wait for ticket assignment and was told they were back down to around 48 hours from over a week wait time. I am now at 57 hours and ticket is still open and has not been assigned to anyone. If you traditionally start decorating after Thanksgiving, this is a considerable percentage of the time frame in my opinion. After reading other reviews for this product, and seeing all the combined requests and comments on their Facebook page - I will stay away from this brand.... as far as I can get. It's much more practical and logical to just return these lights vs. trying to reach a resolution with the vendor. They would be awesome if they were quality lights.

Purchased 3 strings of these in early November 2014, strung them, they worked OK in all patterns until it got cold (-10 C), then they started to flash sporadically, flicker and finally die out. When it warmed up again, they seemed to work OK but again didn't last for long (few hours). By my experience, these don't seem to be designed for winters in Canada. Took them all back to Home Depot before the 'decorative' clause on the return policy expired. Was refunded in full. Wouldn't buy them again, or recommend unless you're stinging them indoors.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jeremy Barely lasted a year
I purchased 2 packs and ran them on the roof. The first year 2 bulbs went out. The next year I put them up they were malfunctioning terribly, some lights on one pattern others on another pattern. Checked BBB and the company has awful reviews. Too expensive for such a short life.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jason Malfunctioning out of the box
10/28/2013. Just bought a set last night to see if I would like these enough to replace my GE Color Effects LED's. These particular lights have more functions so I thought they would be worth it. Out of the box started working great. After switching off with remote, lights continued to flicker sporadically. Unplugged....waited 10 seconds....plugged back in, same issue & the lights now flicker on "solid color" modes. Random weirdness. Returning, may try one more set but the quality doesn't seem too good.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by JGB1 Not what you might think
FYI...You can string several sets together like it says on the box, BUT each strand has it's own receiver box. When you use the remote to click through the different color choices, you have to do it at each box. The color choice does not get communicated on down the line from the first box. Trying to get the whole string to display something together is maddening.
