My first impression was these are cheap plastic. I was surprised, the first pair lasted 5years plus.
In every kind of weather. I glad I can find two more.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by canuck cheap plastic, cracked on arrival
this was an inferior product for Home Depot. when it arrived, it seemed to have been repacked... there was a piece of plastic broken on it. I have other hps lights, and they are much better than this one, at a comparable price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hankster Best purchase ever made!
I originally installed this fixture in 1987 and it finally went bad in 2016! Only problem was I could not access ballast and fix ignitor because it is all electronic. Still not bad value--I got a lot of service out of unit. Photocell probably finally went bad and lamp did not turn on.

Lights were simple to install. They provide a strong yellowish light at night that probably will not attract insects, yet light the chosen area very well. The one and off by light works well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Freddoesitagain pretty good for an inexpensive light
I was skeptical at first since these light are a semi light weight plastic, and light in weight.
These lights use a switching power supply and not a transformer ballast/starter, which is why they weigh so much less. It is supposed to be grounded to the electrical box fixture and includes a cross bar and collar to do so, but the problem is the plate intended to be the grounding conductor is an entirely painted surface, no bare metal, so using it as ground is really ineffective. In reality and practicality, you can connect just the 2 power wires and be done.
For mounting i just used a few drywall screws through the holes pre-existing holes molded into the back of the housing in the bulb area.
Pros: nice light for the price, appears to be more reliable than the $80 similar fixture (that we have several failing around the complex) at store level. Easy to install, using drywall screws in the convenient already existing holes in the bulb reflective area. 3 or 4 screws will do the trick.
Cons: it can be a little loose (not as tightly mounted) at the top half of the light since there is no way to screw or tighten the top half down.
otherwise its a pretty good light for the money, lighter, hopefully more reliable with the electronic ballast verses the old transformer one which are going out where I live. time will tell.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by FarmerPete Repeated Lighting Flashes Cause Fixture Failure
I have purchased several of these fixtures for two different homes. I like the look, the power consumption and the bulb longevity. I use these fixtures at two homes. The home with the highest frequency of lightning flashes in an evening requires that the fixtures be replaced on a periodic basis. The fixture shuts down the lamp on a lightning flash when dark and then restarts. If another lighting flash occurs, the fixture again shuts down. It does not take very many lighting flashes to cause a fixture failure. I am seeking replacement from LOA and will return the defective units to them for investigation of the ballast and starting circuit.
