Customer Questions & Answers

how wire up this type light

Asked by: paul
It wires up just like any other type of exterior light fixture. It must be mounted on a rated junction box and hot (black) wires go the same hot wire coming out of the wall. Neutral (white) wire goes to the same coming out of the wall. And the ground goes to the ground.

White Fluorex Flood Light is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from leaks not good for winters or heavy rain. even if you seal them. we have over 11 and every one of them either are full of water or not working after only one year. installed by a professional as well. we went back and caulked some but it appears not to help. bulb or fixture and sometimes both a shot. very annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light should be carried in stores Good value, right size, not to large and light output is good. Uses little electricity compared to halogen. Another thing, this fixture is very light in weight making it very easy to install if working on a ladder.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good lumens for the price Cheap efficient floodlight. Have had mixed results on longevity. Wouldn't replace the lamp when it burns out, replace the whole unit, the ballast is made of cheap parts and won't last.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from bright and efficient light, wish it lasted longer My last light (this model) lasted approximately four years. It is light weight and easy to install high up on a ladder. When it stopped working I replaced it with the same one last month. This replacement only lasted a month. I think it should have lasted longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice enough... ..... but only $25 on Amazon! All in all it seems to function well, as long as you aren't too demanding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great If Installed & Wired Properly Several years back, these were a much better deal. Wal-Mart had pallets of these lights for $15 a piece. Still, at the price they are now, you can accomplish what you need without going broke. Wiring these lights is easy. I actually cut extension cords and splice them to the lights so I can plug my lights in wherever I want to. I don't use the wall mount. I screw eye hooks into the casing and hang the lights from small rope or chain. It works for me. If used in a moist environment, the only thing I would say is lacking is a rubber gasket to help seal the casing and the light cover as the 4 plastic clips don't do a whole lot for keeping things tight. Energy efficient is the main reason I purchase these, they're very good for indoor gardens as they are fairly close to sunlight (you just need to keep the lights closer to your plants). Cucumbers for pickling, tomatoes, several kinds of peppers for chili, and herbs. These lights are great for my garden.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice outdoor energy effeciant fixture I have several of these around our apartment complex that I maintain. These are easy to install hold up quite well. The photo cell works fine. The only issue I had was water infiltrating the cover and filling up, with the light facing down on a 45 degree angle. I corrected the issue by drilling 2 small 1/8" weep holes at the lowest area of the clear cover, to allow any water to exit. I now drill all new fixtures with the same holes before I install them.
