This isn't a magic bullet. Not necessary in most situations but has its uses. Especially in the fall. It's just organic fertilizer. There are no specific microorganisms listed as I was expecting.
I bought a couple of bags of this last year based on the recommendation of a relative who likes to use it in their compost pile before looking into what this was. After reading the label I realized its just typical components that are used as organic fertilizers. They tend to be the ones higher in phosphorus such as poultry manure and bone meal but they also add nitrogen to the pile.
Research shows to be able to get good compost you want a carbon to nitrogen ratio of around 25-30:1. Too much carbon and the pile will compost slowly. Too much nitrogen and the compost can turn into a slimy, stinky mess.
I used this in the fall when I have a lot more fallen leaves (carbon rich) than I have green yard waste (nitrogen rich) and it seemed to help. I wouldn't use it in the spring and summer where most of my yard waste is nitrogen rich.
I did some searching and tried to find out if there was any benefit to adding phosphorus to compost. Other than compost made from yard waste being generally low in phosphorus I could find no benefit. Not everyone will want to add phosphorus to their garden, especially if they live near water. If you're already using organic fertilizers, they tend to be high in phosphorous already.
When I ran out of some of my regular plant fertilizer I did use this instead. It doesn't provide the traditional guaranteed analysis as far as NPK so I wouldn't use it regularly but it worked in a pinch.
This fall, if I need to add more nitrogen to my compost but I don't have nitrogen sources I'll just add whatever organic fertilizer I have left over.

New to composting, but I'm not sure I would purchase this again. Haven't seen any improvement, but this is my first time. So I guess we'll see how well my next "batch" goes!

Prior to applying the Ultragreen Compost Maker my composting pile was decomposing slowly. After applying the product and watering it in the process was increased dramatically. Love this product!

It is too soon to give an opinion on the compost maker. It is winter and the compost process doesn't work well in winter when the organic material is so cold. Will have a better opinion in a few months.

Mixes in easily and did start woking quickly. Make sure and use the portions suggested on the bag.
