Customer Questions & Answers

What kind of propane tank is needed for this unit? How long will it run on a tank?

Asked by: Anonymous
I used one twenty pound tank a month. I light the Weber charcoal grill on average 3 nights a week and lite the wood in the fire pit 4 nights a week. The grill is less than 5 minutes a time the would pit 20 mins a time average unless the wood was really wet.

Is there an adjustable pilot light or do you have to keep lighting it each time you move to another area?

Asked by: jay1
There is no pilot light. You have to keep relighting it.

what type of regulator is needed to hook this to the propane tank.

Having trouble finding compatible connectors.
Asked by: Anonymous
No regulator is required, and I'm quite sure you're not supposed to use one as full pressure from the propane tank is required for it work properly.

Customer Reviews

Inferno Propane Torch Kit is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 133.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A weed burning beast! The Inferno propane torch took a little getting used to. At first I was holding the torch too close to my driveway, which caused the flame to extinguish due to lack of oxygen. Once I figured this out, it made short work of a large overgrown garden patch. This this thing sounds like a jet engine! One note - SLOWLY open the valve to your propane tank. The unit has a valve to prevent rapid pressure changes, a safety feature. If you open the tank valve too quickly it will prevent the unit from working. I'm guessing they did this to prevent people from turning this into a flamethrower.

If you have difficultly lighting it try turning the gas way down. The valve on the tank needs to be just barely cracked for it to work well. I am sad to report that this product does not do so well for combating grass burrs. The grass burrs seem to survive the heat better than the surrounding grass you want to keep. But I am happy to report that the product in the following link works very well for combating grass burrs. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Fiskars-14-in-Big-Grip-Garden-Knife-70796935J/202681617

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flame on It works as planned I was looking for a longer hose so I can work with it a little farther away from the propane tank.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The burninator An excellent tool for moderate destruction of all things flammable. Ant hills and cockroaches are particularly satisfying. I would give this product 5 stars if it allowed me to shoot fireballs like Mario.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Torch If you are not hearing a sound like a jet fighter engine ... you opened the propane tank too much Crack the tank just a little and then open the valve on the torch a little .... press the trigger and you will hear a jet noise light the flame and adjust the force of the flame I made the mistake of cracking the tank too much and the flame was like a dozen bics - this means the safety valve on the tank has kicked in If the torch is working properly the neighbors will complain about the noise and you will think you are in a Mad Max movie I cannot underestimate how important it is too crack the propane tank just a little!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Maui, HI Like some others I too had problems lighting this thing. After reading instructions in depth on google this thing is very powerful. You only need to open your propane valve slightly and turn the adjustment valve on the torch shaft about 1/8 of a turn. Squeezing the torch trigger slowly you'll hear and feel the rush of the 500,000 BTUS and see its power upon lighting it. Works well on weeds and lights a charcoal hibachi in seconds. Great product.
