Answer:
I spoke with Lincoln Electric tech support on that issue. The oxygen cylinder does not have a DOT stamp, it uses a newer certification system. If the welding supply is not aware of the latest certification system I was directed to have them call 866-236-0044. I exchanged my cylinders without an issue.

Answer:
Some are DOT, and some are UN, both are fillable in the US and Canada.
In addition to the USA and Canada, All Safe Global’s UN/ISO cylinders are approved for use in almost every country around the world. UN/ISO is a worldwide, harmonized regulation for compressed gas cylinders that is universally recognized. This means cylinders can cross country borders and still be filled easily.

Yes, it is mandatory with today's safety regulations. Products have to meet strict safety requirements or they will never be allowed on store shelves.

Answer:
The torch is not equiped with a flashback arrestor. The torch does include built-in reverse flow check valves which shuts the gas flow off if reverse flow starts.

Answer:
Yes, Oxygen can be filled, but Acetylene is normally a swap. There are strict regulations on Acetylene re-fills here on the east coast. It's easier for companies to ship the tanks to local retailers.

Answer:
The regulators in the kit are made by Harris. They are Harris model 601 regulators. They have 2" gauges. The oxygen is 0-80 delivery and the fuel is 0-15.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bag for the buck This is the same torch outfit as many others sell with quality regulators and torch heads. The value could not be beat, I searched 5 different stores and this was the best value for the money. For doing those small jobs of cutting and brazing it can't be beat. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price-Excellent product Very well designed Torch Set. Ample storage space and rugged carrier make this a Must-have for any techniciantechnician! April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Pleased Bought this over the weekend. I've had torches at jobs in the past, but never had my own. This one seems to be as good as any I've ever used. As for the tanks, the Oxy tank had a sticker on it about DOT compliance and I saw something about DOT stamped into both of them. Took the tanks to Praxair, and got both swapped out without issue. It is kind of a bummer to swap out nice shiny new tanks for old ones, but I knew that was going to happen before I bought this, so no biggie. March 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good grage tool picked this unit up for limited garage use . maybe heat a bolt or bend metal talked with guy at welding supply store before purchase . and exchanged bottles no problem March 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best brezing kit this product is the best choice for breezing copper or light steel and extra cutting is so usefull I tried that for cutting thick costiron and steel. February 14, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Quality Name, But... The lines and torch itself are well constructed and I expect they will prove durable. The tanks sit in a somewhat flimsy carrier but it works. The problem with this whole setup is that you get brand new tanks, but very few places will fill tanks - most swap. So you're paying for new tanks only to have to trade them for ratty-looking, used stuff. Also, I was disappointed to find that it went on sale for $284 a few weeks after I bought it at full price. December 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great quality and flame control I've had this torch setup for about 6 months. The flame is easy to control, hoses, regulators and torches seems to be high quality. You will need to swap out the tanks because they come with empties. We will see how the plastic frame and fabric hold up in the back of a work van. December 4, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lincoln Portable Torch This is a good rig for light to medium home shop use. I use it in my farm shop for the repairs and modification of my equipment. The quality is very good, if you're not looking for great precision. The only down side to small portable units like this is in the size of the gas cylinders but any larger and you would loose portability. I plan on getting some larger cylinders and longer hoses for jobs that can be handled just in my shop. September 29, 2015
