The helmet comes with easy instructions on which settings are best for different types of welding and a couple replacement lenses. It is very lightweight which is easy on your neck for extended periods of time.

The helmet didn't work even after hours of charging. The user guide was dated March 2011 and I suppose the batteries, which cannot be replaced, were dead. Waste of time purchasing and returning. The manual is not clear. There is no diagnostic test to confirm auto darkening feature. Bad product if it's been on the shelf for 4 + years.

I finally decided to get a new welding helmet to replace my current helmet that is over 10 years old. My old helmet did not have the auto-darkening feature so I was ready for an upgrade.
I decided on the Lincoln Auto-Darkening Red Fierce Helmet found at Home Depot. I really didn't know I was getting such a great product at the time.
First, the graphics are incredible. I am going from a plain black helmet to a helmet that looks like it has 500 horsepower. Second, the Auto-Darkening feature is even better than I have envisioned. It is like turning a light on and off. It goes to dark and back to light as quickly as the arc strikes the metal. Also, the solar powered feature is awesome. It looks like a solar powered strip off a calculator and no batteries are ever required. Another great feature is the Sensitivity and Time delay switches inside the helmet. This allows for three adjustments on the auto-darkening feature and a slow and fast speed on the auto-darkening feature.
Some of the other features are the nice sweat band on the strap that goes across your forehead. The quick sizing knob on the back makes it easy for my son to resize the helmet and wear it. The side tension knobs allow you to set the correct amount of tension to raise and lower the helmet to weld. A quick flick of your head brings the helmet down for welding.
To top it all off, Lincoln sends two sets of interior replacement lenses...Bonus! I have included several images of the features of this helmet.
I am thrilled about my now Lincoln Welding Helmet and would absolutely recommend this product to any welder, from hobby welder to pro.

Worst welding shield I have ever used...I am in ironworker and weld for a living I needed a shield quick to replace a broken one and thought the Lincoln would give a good affordable replacement. Boy was I wrong it is not even two months old and very unreliable and that is not being used daily. In the middle of welding it will blink on and off sometimes it will not dark in at all. I would give it a -5 star rating if they permitted it but unfortunately I had to give it at least a one star! Stay away from this shield if you want your eyes to last you!

I was trying to save money and bought a HFT auto dark weld helmet on sale because of the decent reviews. When I began using it I felt the flash hitting my eyes and for the rest of the day my eyes hurt, this weld helmet works way better! I paid more than twice the price but my eyes are well worth it. Once I began using this one my eyes felt great and it feels like a solid helmet, I will definitely be buying more Lincoln products for all my welding needs from now on!

Does what it is supposed to. This helmet is a high quality product and worth every penny. It darkens instantly, unlike the "cheaper" one I had before. I would definitely suggest paying the extra few bucks for it.
