I need to know about the weight of the machine

Asked by: Alex
If you do a search on google it should pop right up. However, it's just under two foot I would say.

Is gas required to weld with the Lincoln Electric Weld Pak 140 HD or will wire only weld

Asked by: Anonymous
The Lincoln 140 HD can use flux-core or the 75/25 gas and solid wire. There's a lot less splatter with the wire and gas, versus the flux core. The instructions recommend using the flux core when welding outside, in windy conditions.

Will this work properly/consistently on a normal 125v 15a outlet?

Assuming that the welder is the only appliance plugged into the outlet. I've read elsewhere that this model works best on a 20a circuit, which I don't have. In other words, am I going to have to shell out more money to wire a dedicated outlet in order to make this thing work correctly? Thank you.
Asked by: Stacey
As mentioned in a previous answer you can upgrade from a 15 amp to a 20 amp outlet very easily and for a small amount of money. BUT BEFORE YOU DO, you must make sure you have a minimum of 12 gauge wire used for the circuit! You must also make sure it is a dedicated circuit (no other outlets or lights or anything else on the circuit)? If you do this you will probably be ok for low to mid range amperage adjustments on the welder if you also keep the length of time that you weld non stop to to 10-15 minutes per hour! During the 45 minute cool down period you can drink a Pepsi and chip and wire brush your welding job you just did and try to figure out what you need to do different next time to improve! You should also check the face of the 20 amp breaker on the circuit to see if it is too hot? You can also feel any exposed wire ( in shed and garage wiring part or all of the wire may be exposed) for being hot? If it is hot Stop Welding and call and electrician have a minimum size wire of 10 gauge and if you think you might ever want a larger welder have him install a 50 amp 230 volt circuit! Sure it cost more but it will be cheaper than having him (or her) come back to do it another time!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for the magnum 100l gun is absolute junk. Got maybe 6 hours on this machine and i ended up returning it to home depot and plan on purchasing a miller next week. Spend the extra $$ and get a reputable machine if you plan on using this often. I will say this the customer service while returning this item was great no hassle. Needless to say, lincoln is NOT the miller killer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not bad. customer service isnt that great Welder works pretty good. I got it all set up and welded a little bit on some exhaust. not bad. but then after a while I noticed the regulator on the welder was leaking gas (very expensive gas). so have to turn he bottle off in between welds so I don't waste anything. Lincoln wont send me another regulator, they say I have to box it all back up and return it to home depot, or take it to one of their service centers for them to test it then have them order one. I don't have time for any of that, tired of buying things from home depot only to find they are boxed wrong, used and returned, or no good right out of the box. So at this point I really wish I would of spent a few more on a miller.
