The unit sets itself up all you have to do is answer the already prepared questions during the setup process.

I bought this August 2015. It works great. The only thing is not good is that it is quite hot compare to my previous EA3500. Maybe that is the reason it failed month ago. However, the support team is great and after all the efforts fixing problem. They concluded that the device is defective and now I got a replacement and it works great again.

The ea6500 isnt any better than the ea6300 i had, the parental controls for specific time do not work still!! Im back to my old ea3500 which so far is still the best!!

I have the same issues with mine. When it runs, it runs well on the 5GHz band. I was getting 1.3 Gbps with my AC1750 wireless network card in my desktop. Although, even after one of many router resets, I could watch the signal strength diminish over time with this router until there was no connectivity available at all on the 5GHz. At any rate, I would lose the 5GHz band at least once per day (not counting when I had to reset it for the signal loss on the 2.4GHz band).
On the 2.4GHz band, the signal was even more sporadic. The signal strength would diminish and drop altogether many times a day.
At first, I thought there might be some form of interference messing with this router. To test this, I swapped this router out with my old low-cost wireless-N router (also operating on the 2.4 and 5GHz bands) and the N-router works without issue. As a matter of fact, I've been running for 2 months with my N-router and have not had to reset it once. I have about twenty years of experience running routers in a home and professional environment and haven't seen anything like this issue in any wireless device so I hope a firmware fix can take care of it.
For now, I have to say it's the most unreliable wireless device I've personally used to date. The lack of reliability is entirely the reason for my one-star review.
I'm keeping it hoping a firmware update will fix the connection drops. I trust that Linksys will make this right.

We got this about three weeks ago and we're very happy with it. Especially as we also have a "guest" option for people to log into. The only difficulty we had was setting it up on a Mac; it wasn't plug and play, and we had to reset and do it a second time. You can only access settings online, and if you can't get online, it makes it difficult.

I found my new Linksys EA6500 router to be very easy to install in my home compared with prior routers that were a pain.
My only disappointment is the range provided is not quite as good as my old Linksys Router. Certain parts of my home no longer are able to access WIFI. This is true with both IPhones and IPAD. Quite annoying.

I have been using this router for several weeks. I am disappointed in it's range. I have it in my study where it works fine. If I go into the next room I loose signal. If itry to connect there it tells me "Cannot connect to this network." Much poorer signal than a five year old router that I replaced thinking it would be an upgrade.

I have been having trouble connecting to my laptop with the new linksys when my 12 yr-old linksys never had a connection issue. I have a new Cannon MG7520 printer. It connected great to my new router. Other devices can connect effortlessly to router and printer. BUT my desktop must be hardwired to use the internet. Not what I was looking for.
