For those of you who had problems with the battery running low after any period of time at all, please note that it is RECHARGEABLE.

I wanted to see if this is a replacement for the Verizon Fios backup battery. I called the number on the battery and the company that makes the battery could not offer any help. So I can't recommend if this is the correct battery.

I purchased this backup battery for our Verizon Fios unit on September 9, 2015. Today, on October 22, the unit already started beeping that the battery is low. The date on the battery is 03/20/2015 - I assume that's the manufacturing date. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Six weeks of usage for 35 bucks!? I don't think so. This thing is going back to the store. I want my money back.

After reading reviews, I checked the manufacture date that was stamped on top of the battery. It was November 2014. This means there are only four months left on the one year manufacture warranty. I did not buy this product from Home Depot. It should be noted I went to two different Home Depot stores and they both had batteries stamped 2014.

Our back-up battery from Verizon began beeping. I did some online research and found that Home Depot carried one that would work. I ordered it online and picked it up in the store -- very easy. The only negative thing that happened is that I didn't know that I needed to remove some wires to re-use them for the installation. The replacement doesn't come with wires, and you need to use the original ones. I left the old battery to be recycled at Home Depot, but luckily, it was still there when we went back to the store so we could retrieve the wires. It would have been helpful if the customer service staff had noticed that I needed to take the wires off the old battery to use to install the new one.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steven Watch for old battery stock on shelf (manufacturer dates)
I'm glad that I read the reviews on these replacement batteries prior to going to Home Depot to purchase this battery. There were 2 batteries that were out on the shelf. One was dated June 2012, and the other was July 2013. I saw a sealed box behind them. I opened the box and it contained 4 batteries. The date on these four batteries were dated September 2014. I took one of these as at least I had an 8 month warranty left, since the warranty date is based on manufacture date, not purchase date. The battery that I replaced had lasted almost 5 years from the alarm installer, so time will tell how this battery's life will be. At least the price at Home Depot was about 1/2 of what I paid the installer for the previous battery.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Groversmith1 Reliable and compact
I have two of these running solar powered groundlights and they're very reliable. Ive had issues with other brands of lead acid batteries, but this model is steady eddie. My only complaint is that it is overpriced compared with batteries with similar amperage.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by satrijoe Specs are confusing
Bought this battery to replace an old one for my ADT alarm system (Safewatch Pro 3000). The original one was 12V and 4.5Ah. If you look it up on ADT's website, they are replacing it with 12V/7Ah batteries @ $29.99 (free standard shipping- 3-5 days). I chose to not to wait and bought it at Home Depot (didn't want to risk waking up in the middle of the night with those annoying alarm noises).
They only had two units, none was in a box. They didn't have their plastic caps covering the connectors and were dusty on top. I chose one that was at least in a plastic bag.
Specs: There are two labels on the battery. Once says 7.2Ah and the other 7.0Ah (like someone else commented before). The measurements are all off. The actual ones are 2.5in (d) x 6in (w) x 4in (h) so it definintely fits the panel in which it should go.
It was manufactured on Mar 2014 (purchase date was September 1st) so I am 6-month short on the warranty. Hopefully that will not hunt by down the road.
