Replaced 12 T8 fixtures with just 6 of these T5 fixtures in a 32x40 foot shop. The lighting difference is unbelievable between the T8 and T5 thus only needing to use 6 to replace the 12 old ones. Very easy to install. My only gripe is that Home Depot kept the fixtures in stock but not the 54 watt bulbs. I had to go to another hardware store to get the correct bulbs. You can not go wrong with these if you are looking to replace your old T12 or T8.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by kabarnei don't buy this !!!!!
Don't buy this unless you want to spend you time trying to get information on how to provide power. The company does NOT call you back. There are NO instructions in the boxes. There are some orange connectors --who knows what they are for. There is a female "connector" with a white and black wires going into it--but who knows what they connect to--there is no corresponding "male" connector (maybe its to gang them together but they just don't provide the extra part. To install: I am assuming you cut off the useless connector (that attaches to the black and white wires in the unit); take out the round "knock outs" on one end of the metal casing--just like on a metal electric box. Put in what looks like a 1/2 connector (same word "connector but this one just provides a smooth entry into the fixture, and gets screwed down (you don't want the extension cord wire rubbing against the sharp metal round holes where the knock out used to be. Run in the wire from an extension cord after cutting off the female end. Screw down the wire where it went thru the unit connector, to secure the wire. So now you have your extension cord wire inside the unit; next cut off the "weird connector" (looks beige and has one black and one white wire attached to it. Strip all ends so that you can wire nut the power and neutral wires of the extension cord to the black and white wires in the unit. Plug it in and hope this works. I haven't done it yet because the company won't call back, and i have to go back to home depot to get some extension cords. What an irresponsible pain in the uh-hem. The company should either provide a plug in cord, or instructions on how to splice on your own extension cord (sold separately-of course ;) Seems like a logical fix, but who knows, maybe the black and white wires in the unit need some special voltage. I propose just doing it and if it doesn't work (or if you break it) return it to home depot for a full refund, after expressing your total frustration with this product.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by gr8diyr Nice Light, but...
Be careful to check the contents of each package you acquire. I bought three and had to exchange two. One of the two looked like it had been used for another installation and subsequently returned. It didn't work at all. The other had several parts miissing (end caps, specialized wire connector). I hate having to return faulty merchandise! Thankfully, it doesn't happen often at HD. Maybe this will save you frim making the extra trip.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DRH7660 Excellent Light Fixture! Fits inside old 4 bulb fluorescent fixtures. Super Bright!
This light is very easy to install as a new light fixture or inside an old 4-bulb fixture whose ballasts are going bad. You purchase the T5HO 54 Watt bulbs separately. I buy the 6500k daylight bulbs and they are fabulous. In an office, this two-bulb unit puts out more, brighter, cleaner light than the old four bulb models. They start up fast with no flickering, too. We replace the fixtures at work as they burn out. We do not remove the old fixture, we just install this one inside the old unit. That way there is no change to the drop ceiling required. I also put two of these in my garage where there use to be two, 2-bulb incandescent fixtures - - the difference is simply amazing.
