Seems like a dumb question I know - but I bought two new replacement bulbs (F17T8), removed the old ones, and can't seem to figure out how to reattach the new ones. I'm not familiar with this type of fixture at all - so any info (manual, instructions) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

After removing the old bulbs and disposing of them in the proper way, I inserted one end of the new bulb in the receptacle (Be Sure Power Is OFF) the two contacts slide up in a groove on the fixture Push the bulb against that inserted end and slide the other two pins in the slot at the other end. Once this is done turn the bulb clockwise or counter clockwise till you feel it lock in place. At this point the bulb is properly installed and will function when power is applied. Line the pins on the end of the bulbs in an up and down position. Slide bulbs into retainers and rotate 1/4 turn. The retainers on this fixture have a tendency to dislodge and break so be very gentle.

The directions say that it can be mounted on a drywall ceiling but do not mention on a dropped or suspended ceiling. I am wondering if the ballast temperature is low enough that this will not be a problem

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Functional Fixture This is a functional and easy to install fixture. The ballast is compatible with the Phillips LED tubes so it is possible to install LEDs tubes instead of flurescent tubes to save power. August 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Short Life Fixture Installed 6 lights in our craft room. Within two years we have needed to replace 3 of the fixtures: 1) no replacement ballasts available, 2) tombstone bulb connectors are non-standard and break easily while no replacement is available. These are basically disposable fixtures, . April 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Lighting! The 2-light Flush Mount Fluorescent Light fixture was a replacement purchase bought at Home Depot. It provides very good light above my kitchen sink and window. I always have the light turned on, and it does increase the quality of light in the kitchen. April 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bright White Light This was the easiest light I think I ever installed. All the pieces parts were in the package so the only thing I needed to purchase was the bulbs, two of them. I shut off the circuit that I was going to be working on and then checked with a voltage checker to insure that there was no power to the line. I hate getting bit. Stripped my feed wire and followed the instructions that came with the light. Easy as pie to install. After installation re-energized the circuit and flipped the switch, behold light! It lite up the area so well that I did not need to install a second light. Great light and it is so easy that anyone could do it. This type of project is what a new DIY'er needs to install its goof proof and it gives you a feeling of accomplishment after completing it. Just be safe. Good investment January 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by B Hicks Easy to install. Worked well in a walk in closet application as a wall mount. March 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product, Poor Store performance Product is inexpensive, but it meets my needs for basement lighting. Installation is pretty standard. You need to be familiar with electrical installation. I choose store pickup. I ordered online and took their entire stock on hand. Some of the items had been opened and resealed. When I got home I found that one of the items was wrong, a single bulb fixture rather than the 2 bulb. When I went to the store to return it, I was offered only a store credit or an exchange. This was because the SKU on the return product did not match the receipt. BUT IT WAS DUE TO THEIR MISTAKE. I wanted them to just credit back my credit card, like they due on other returns. But THEY made the mistake. But they wanted to then inconvenience me. How is that fair. Strongly suggest to management that they review their policies. If Home Depot staff makes a mistake, the fix should not place any burden on the customer. February 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Had to replace bulbs Just installed this light and to my dismay had to immediately go buy 2 new lights. The ones that came in the box were bad March 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by light fixture the ballast burned out in my light in the laundry room and I replaced it with this. The install was easy. I just removed the old one and put this one in its place. I followed the wiring from the one I took down. The holes did not line up so i marked the ceiling and drilled new ones. I used sheet rock screws to install. the directions said use toggle bolts but the fixture is so light i don't see having a problem. It was easy and I'm not very handy. January 23, 2016
