Picked up two sets of these lights from HD and installed one in the carport and one in the shed/workshop. VERY impressed with the light output - these things are BRIGHT! 5,000 lumens per lamp (20,000 per fixture) is nothing to scoff at. Fixtures are slim and installation is easy. Two leads so you can turn on half of the fixture if the whole thing is too bright. Light is very even and 4100K lamps are a good color temperature.
I was so impressed that I converted all of my work lights (wall lights on stage) in my theater to these (7 sets with two 4-lamp high bay models). Using less power than the previous five 500 watt halogen fixtures and getting four times more light.

I put this light above my workbench and let me tell you, I'm so very glad I went with this fixture. It is BIRGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT! This is a High Output fixture and was paired with 4x 54w T5HO 4100K lamps. Install was easy... just run the wire through the hole, then attach the light to the surface, then use wirenuts to make the connections and you're in business. Would highly recommend, and would definitely purchase again.

This strip was very easy to assemble and install and the wiring was straightforward. The light was extremely bright using the recommended tubes and the yellow light was somewhat hard on the eyes at first. Using a softer light tube would help, although my use is for one side of a 2 car garage. Only takes a few seconds for the light to come on and there is no humming or other noise. The low profile of the fixture is good for garage ceilings with limited clearance. The price is right but be aware that the 4 tubes will cost about as much as the fixture, but they should last a very long time.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SomeGuyInArizona A bit of a pain to assemble, but worth the effort
I replaced a double-bulb 4' fluorescent fixture with this 8' fixture since I spend a lot of time in my garage and need reliable bright lighting.
Opening the package revealed what looked like an incomplete item since there were no bulb receptacles or instructions. After futzing with the product for a bit I realized you have to remove the stamped steel covers to reveal the receptacles which starts the assembly process. The instructions are printed on the outside of the cardboard packaging. I chose to first hang the fixture, then do wiring, then install bulbs and test.
The wiring plug makes the wiring task a piece of cake once you figure out which wires go where. I had to relocate the ground connection (not part of the plug) to the end instead of the middle of the unit but that was not difficult, but I did have to supply some of my own wire to finish that job.
Installing each of the T5HO bulbs (price these before you buy the unit, as four of these will set you back more than half the price of the fixture itself) is simple, just like any other fluorescent bulb - slide in and turn.
The bulbs take about a second to turn on once switched but there's absolutely no buzzing once lit. The amount of light emitted by the four T5HO bulbs is significantly more than other fixtures I've used (if you're in the market for these, do yourself a favor and look at the in-store display - that's what convinced me to spend the extra dough on this unit). Now that I've installed one I will definitely be taking another trip to HD buy another one to finish the job.

For the most part the light is fairly straightforward to assemble and hang. I did run into an issue though with only half of the light lighting. I chased the issue for some time before referring back to the Home Depot page for the light and reviewing the Q&A section. Most answers were wordy and convoluted but the simple few word answer from moparnuts440 solved my issue. I only had a black and white wire from the switch to the light so I had to wire nut the black wire from the switch to the black and red wires of the light, easy peasy. This should be included in the installation information on the box for those of us that are not electricians but just simple DIY'ers. The light and the high output tubes provide excellent very bright coverage for my garage.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bengalwrangler Great light, decent quality fixture
Like many fixtures of this type, the metal used is pliable by hand and therefore a little care is required when handling. The pieces that clip in are a little hard to fit, but they did fit like they are supposed to. When finished, the fixture looks clean. I installed Philips 4100k bulbs and the light is extremely bright. I was hoping that these were going to come on instantly, but a they take a few seconds to start, and then a minute or two to reach full brightness. I bought 7 for a new 1500 square foot shop, but I am going to need more. I am going to add 2 more and then we'll see.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Scargo Brightest 8' fluorescent shop light ever!
These T5 bulbs may be tiny but they are mighty. These 8 foot fixtures are extremely bright!
I purchased three of these. One of these in your garage, on each side of the car, works very well.
Some of the fixtures were a little bent coming out of the box; mostly in the middle where parts are bunched together. It's thin sheet-metal so it was not difficult to straighten.
They go together like most fluorescent fixtures. Some skill involved to get it right, but most who will be putting these up and wiring them by themselves should have no problems.
They are quiet. They do not hum.
Home Depot needs to get their inventory in shape. You need four bulbs per fixture. They did not have many T5 bulbs at the store I frequent.
