Does the unite come with a power cord?

The reason I asked is because I bought two of the unites several years ago and have a normal three prong Edison power cord attached to the unites. I bought two more recently and they both are without a power cord. I can't remember if they came with them or I had to buy something to attach to them.

The easiest way (which I did) is to take about a 6" piece of No. 14 or 12 guage solid copper wire (like comes in romex wiring, for example) and strip about 1/2" off each end. Bend it in a U-shape. Take the plug that comes with the fixture, and insert one end into one of the red wire holes (there are 2) and one end into the black wire hole (there are 2). We have a few questions before we can answer your question. Did you check to make sure that the ballast wires are connected to the sockets? Did you wire in the red wire with the white wire?

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 55 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 8 ft T5 HO fixture. I would recommend this to anyone. They put out a lot of light, especially when you use the 6500k HO bulbs with them. I have installed with both 4500K and 6500K bulbs. The housing bends a bit when you try and use the knockouts. Easy to chain hang or surface mount to the ceiling. Works great in the break room of my shop and in our tooling areas. These are also great for garages! November 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow!! What a difference!! Easy assembly - easy installation - STUNNING results. Opted for these over the LED lights because whenever the LED lights burn out - you have to replace the entire assembly. When the T5-HO bulbs burn out (35,000 hours advertised), you replace the bulbs. The bulbs are about $10 a pop - so I put $80 into bulbs and about $140 into the fixtures and the moment I turned them on - I was stunned........ absolutely the best lighting I've had in this garage. Wish I'd done it sooner. April 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Buy This strip was very easy to assemble and install and the wiring was straightforward. The light was extremely bright using the recommended tubes and the yellow light was somewhat hard on the eyes at first. Using a softer light tube would help, although my use is for one side of a 2 car garage. Only takes a few seconds for the light to come on and there is no humming or other noise. The low profile of the fixture is good for garage ceilings with limited clearance. The price is right but be aware that the 4 tubes will cost about as much as the fixture, but they should last a very long time. July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Turn a large space into daytime! BRIGHT! Picked up two sets of these lights from HD and installed one in the carport and one in the shed/workshop. VERY impressed with the light output - these things are BRIGHT! 5,000 lumens per lamp (20,000 per fixture) is nothing to scoff at. Fixtures are slim and installation is easy. Two leads so you can turn on half of the fixture if the whole thing is too bright. Light is very even and 4100K lamps are a good color temperature. I was so impressed that I converted all of my work lights (wall lights on stage) in my theater to these (7 sets with two 4-lamp high bay models). Using less power than the previous five 500 watt halogen fixtures and getting four times more light. July 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great light at a great price Price of light fixture was great. Installation was easy but is a two person job due to the length of the fixture. Instructions were clear and precise. Ballasts are fast start which lights fixture very quickly. Bulbs are sold seperately. Worth the money. May 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great, BRIGHT light... I put this light above my workbench and let me tell you, I'm so very glad I went with this fixture. It is BIRGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT! This is a High Output fixture and was paired with 4x 54w T5HO 4100K lamps. Install was easy... just run the wire through the hole, then attach the light to the surface, then use wirenuts to make the connections and you're in business. Would highly recommend, and would definitely purchase again. January 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome lights I was hesitant at first, because of the price, but glad I bought them. They are very bright and light up my garage the way I wanted. The bulbs are a little spendy too, but they are led and should last longer. January 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Instructions not included They work very well once installed. But there was no instructions either inside or on the packaging. I am an experienced do it yourselfer but I had to call an electrician, when he arrived he looked it over and over again, then asked me where the instructions were. We did figure it out but what should have been a 10-15 minute job ended up being about 1-1/2 hours. January 7, 2016
