Answer:
No, the T5 luminaire is designed to hold the T5 lamp. A T5 Lamp is 5/8" diameter. The tombstone (lampholder) only fits the matching lamp.
A T8 luminaire has a bigger tombstone and holds the T8 lamp which is 8/8" diameter (1").
So on for T12 lamps which are 12/8" or 1.5" diameter.
You must match the lamps to the light fixture.

No! Regular fixtures take T8. The pins are further apart then the T5 pins.

Answer:
I haven't tested this, but I don't think so. These bulbs are VERY thin, with a narrower diameter than the T8 bulbs.

Answer:
Fluorescent fixtures can use a variety of different bulbs. It will depend on how the fixture is designed as to whether or not a T5 bulb can be used in that specific fixture.

That is the total depth of the light, Width is 4 feet, depth is 10 inches. The bulbs themselves aren't that wide but the metal housing of the light is 10 inches

As we age the lenses of our eyes yellow, and less of the yellow light makes it through the lense. So sometimes seniors will find it to `dark' to read. A bluer light may help, or just upping the wattage of the warm lights.

This fixture includes energy-efficient T5 6500K fluorescent bulbs that produce light comparable to natural sunlight. So it is not ideal for reading as it may be too bright.

Answer:
Hey F911,
While it is possible to use this in an enclosed outdoor location, any wire connections and sockets can be prone to rust over time.
With that said, even if rain won't touch it, moisture can and will. You'll need to ensure all connections will be sprayed with WD-40 or a similar material.
Be mindful and inspect the fixture over time to ensure no rust or damage will occur.

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good buy I have owned this light for about 2 weeks and it does great. Easy to use. Removing the lenses was a little tricky, but not very complicated. All in all a very good grow light. The extra outlet is great. I plugged in my seed starting heat mat and it works great. I will be purchasing another soon for my indoor garden. March 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MISTAKE Lens comes in crushed from banding. Ballast cover only attaches 3/4 of total length, pin connectors for lamp is twisted at connection point. Buyer needs to check what he's getting, verse what he was sold. The great part of the experience was the ease of returning to store for refund. February 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best purchase ever. Arrived with lense damaged. I needed the light, so i use it without the lense, one socked was loose and the bulb would not stay in, bent that so it would retain the bulb. August 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Small greenhouse We have a small indoor greenhouse made up of shelving and the grow lights. We have purchased 6 of these lights and are very happy with the results. We started seeds in March and are now ready to plant in the garden and yard. April 29, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Had to use duct tape The fixture insides are drooping on one side and I had to use duct tape to hold it together. I would have sent it back but my seeds have sprouted and I need it now! March 11, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mediocre product I am very luke warm to this product. The ballast seemed to be held in by crimped metal which came undone. I inadvertently broke one of the bulbs and I could not get a replacement for this part through Home Depot. This is a mediocre product with inadequate support. November 19, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by bad quality Took one back after the bulbs burned out in a week. Got the replacement one home, and the plastic coverings for the bulbs were both broken. I expect more for an $80 light. Should have bought the normal fluorescent fixture and 2 grow lamps and installed myself. May 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product for doing my starts for my garden. Excellent product to get your garden started. Easy to hang and easy to adjust as youor plants grow. April 1, 2014
