Having trouble removing the cover to replace bulb

I would really appreciate it if someone can explain - in a pretty detailed way - exactly how to remove the cover, in order to replace the bulb. I was fiddling with it for 20 minutes, and couldn't really figure it out. I also didn't want to break the plastic cover... Any help appreciated. A short video would be even better! Thanks, Alex

The cover for the 4 ft. Wraparound Fluorescent Ceiling Fixture is a simple 'pressure' fit. Start at one end of the plastic cover, with finger pressure pull the edge of the cover away from the fixture's metal frame, working your fingers along the edge of the cover continue pressure along the edge of plastic cover until it 'snaps' free of the metal fixture frame. The cover can now be removed easily by tilting it downward and away from the fixture frame. To re-install, simply reverse the procedure.

Does this light have the ballast cover piece inside the light to eliminate need for a ceiling box, or is it open underneath the hinged lens?

If this light does not have the internal ballast cover which model number light would have it, that would be as close as possible in style & appearance to this light?
Asked by: VS
The ballast is fully covered by an interior metal panel that clips in easily for access to the wires.

4 ft. Wraparound Fluorescent Ceiling Fixture is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 132.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay for LED Retrofit I bought this fixture as a cheap replacement for my older fixtures that had failing ballasts, and replacing just the ballast is just as costly as buying a whole new fixture anyway. I also wanted to use this as an LED Retrofit fixture. This particular fixture isn't that great for this as the lamp sockets (tombstones) are angled at 45 degrees, where as others are 90 degrees perpendicular with the ground. A 45 degree angle is fine for fluorescent lamps b/c the whole tube lights up, whereas an LED lamp has a strip on one side. This makes the LED strip face 45 degrees out instead of straight down which is less than ideal.

Wraparound Fluorescent Ceiling Fixture was just the thing for adding more light to a rather 'dark' kitchen! It is simple to install, needing only two screws w/backing washers & a couple of wire nuts - from start to finish was less than an hour to completion. The 4 ft. Wraparound Fluorescent Ceiling Fixture has an 'instant-on' feature that provides light immediately on flipping the switch, quite an improvement over the modular CFLs that it replaced. Highly recommend this fixture for adding primary or additional lighting while also complementing a room's decor!!

I had eight of the magnetic ballast fixtures in my garage that had become unreliable, especially sensitive to temperature and humidity. Rather than just replace the ballasts I opted for all new fixtures with the solid state starter and new T8 lamps. Wowzers! I can see. Based on prior experience with this technology I expect no issues with ballast aging, but time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Let there be light1 I had light bulbs in the garage that I was replacing every month it seemed. I decided to buy a florescent fixture to solve that problem. It works great. Now when I flip the switch I don't have to try and find the ladder in the dark to replace the bulb. One suggestion when installing; beware of the sharp edges both the metal and the plastic edges.

I put 3 of these in my garage ceiling last week and only wish that i would've done it sooner. I paired them up with LED light bulbs and the garage has come to life. Very easy installation, even for a novice. All 3 were installed and working within 45 minutes. These exceeded my expectation.

This fluorescent ceiling fixture met my expectations for a basic 4ft., 2 bulb fixture. I actually rewired it to use LED bulbs, by removing the ballast. Some day in the future we will be able to buy a fixture made for LED bulbs.
