Most bulbs of this variety are rated for "up to" 10,000hrs of use. In most cases this is not a warranty.

Modified? A fixture should only use the maximum bulb wattage it is rated for and should not be modified otherwise.

This product is very hard to find and the price varies widely with Home Depot being among the cheapest, so I will recommend it. However, I did have a couple of issues. I ordered 3 because I have other ceiling fixtures that also use this bulb. This brand is not the same as what came with the original fixture (also bought at Home Depot) so it was a little difficult to install. Also, when we turned the light on for the first time it went poof - luckily it did not shatter. Home Depot gave us a refund and the second one we installed worked perfectly fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 55-WATT T6 2C FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULB Happy buyer We have had this ceiling light in our dining room for ten years. The light bulb failed after ten years of usage. We were glad that we were able to order a replacement bulb from Home Depot. It's a little expensive at $15 but much better than having to purchase a new light fixture. The new light bulb seems to be brighter than the old one.

Light was easy to install but the T-5 is not stocked and requires ordering, but the process to order and deliver was easy enough. T-5 was replaced in newer lights with a less expensive and stocked item.
