Most likely you need a: Lutron CL type dimmer. CL meaning (compact fluorescent and LED, they also dim incandescent too). An important feature of the CL series of dimmers is the dimming range adjustment knob. See this link: http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/Adjustment%20Dial%20Instruction%20Sheet.pdf
This should alleviate the LED problem mentioned above where the Lights would not turn off when the switch was off, as well as the switch not turning on all the LEDs at the same time. Another issue it fixes is the strobing effect that happens when the LED is trying to start but cannot.

Indeed. I replaced my lights with these. The existing maestro dimmer I had would not switch them off. I tried the Diva LED dimmer and had issues with a stutter turning lights on and strobing while dimming. The approved list on their website is very small and if you look at the dimmer mfg websites, these lights don't appear to be supported much. However, I used an old rotary dimmer and it works great. There may be some more advanced ones that work, but it would be trial and error. I do really miss the capabilities of the maestro and would have changed the lights but no other LED I could find would fit my workspace. Read Less

I'm kind of hoping so ... my electrician is installing these lights now, and they are VERY bright, so we're going to have to put in a dimmer switch, and I'm worried about whether or not it will work properly. We'll see! Read Less

Answer:
yup, that's called "ghosting" - where LEDs are still lit when dimmer is all the way down. LED light fixture with direct A/C is not generally compatible with conventional dimmers. The triac dimmers seem to have the most problem. This fixture uses Samsung Direct A/C solution, which has a lot of problems with dimmers.

The difference is purely the number of units that come in a bulk box. Home Depot can order 4 or 6 units at a clip.

Answer:
Sorry for the confusion, but this is actually the same product; The M6/M4/M# is just an internal code used by this vendor (Lithonia) that dictates how the products are shipped to the stores.
As a Home Depot customer, it will not affect your order/purchase in the slightest.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good bright light but limited dimmer options Lights are very bright and easy to install. These were the only ones that would fit our old recess cans and cover the openings correctly. The light is 3000K so is very white compared to incandescent. I didn't like this at first, but do now. The number of 'supported' dimmers is small compared to other LEDs. Our old Maestro would not turn them off completely and we even had issues using the Diva LED dimmer from the approved list. The lights would stutter when switched on and seemed to strobe while dimming. This didn't bother anyone in the house but me. However, I installed a standard rotary dimmer I had lying around and this works fine. May 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good buy I was thinking about LED can lights but only found them at Lowes for around $70. I thought it was not justified. Was at HD and saw this at half that price. Bought one and installed it 9wasnt careful and broke a small part of the internal assembly, not any connections or safety part. It is nice. Lit up immediately. Now the can light is not open to ceiling space. No chance of dust or bug coming through or leaking cool/warm air. Now ready to save money by spending first and get more replaced. :-) Thank you, Home Depot! March 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good instructions and simple installation, beautiful lighting I was disappointed the store didn't have a replacement LED for a 7 in can, but very pleased to find the website did. The kit was easy to install, contained additional brackets to supplement the spring loaded grips which came in handy. Light fixture looks great and the lighting provided is beautiful. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best led recessed light out there, all aspects After installing 55 of them in one shot here are my notes. First the housing is made of all metal, no cheap plastic. It's designed to last without any question. Next this is one of the more energy efficient LEDs out there, as in more lumens per watt. The light output and style blend very easily to any white ceiling. Last the PRICE is one of best, they now sell a two pack, saving us more money, I think we all like saving money. If your going to do anything recessed, this LED is the way to go. Trust me :-) April 20, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 2 lights out of 14 went bad in less than 2 months I bought 14 of these lights for 2 rooms arond 2 months ago. One of the rooms has 8 lights with each 4 controlled by Lutron Diva Skylark Contour. The other room has different brand dimmers. Two of the lights in the room with Lutron Dimmers starts with full light and then dim down by themselves after 1 min. I removed of the lights and and power it directly (without a dimmer), and it behaved similarly. i.e starts with full bright light and in less than 1 min it dims. I mentioned the dimmer used since turning on the Lutron dimmer makes the light flicker before they they turn on. The sale person at Home Depot told me that the dimmers are compatible with these lights. Not sure if the dimmer has something to do with ruining the lights, or the lights are not good. May 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A non-glarrey led Unit has metal housing vs. plastic in many others. 3000K color temperature (same as halogen) is OK and has modern look. I would have preferred 2700K, but Lithonia does not offer it in this line and the available 2700K fixtures had other issues that made them unsuitable for my application. Springs are good (allow use with a square can) and hold fixture tight against the ceiling. Best feature is that the recessed "lamp" minimizes glare that is a problem with a number of recessed led fixtures. December 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent LED light with 1 flaw I bought three of these LED lights. They're made very well. They're super easy to install. I did find one major problem. With one of my lights, I connected it to a dimmer switch. The light would not turn off 100% even when the switch was switched off. This dimmer switch was one of the listed compatible switches listed on the manufactures instruction guide. I went back to Home Depot and returned the dimmer switch with a different dimmer switch that is meant for CL/LED lights. That dimmer switch worked even worse. It would not turn off the light 100% either when switched off and would not brighten the light 100% when the dimmer was set to max. I would highly recommend these lights to anyone. However if you plan one using these with a dimmer...forget about it! March 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful lights... Great product... bought six to help illuminate the basement and suprised at how bright they really are. Unlike the florescent lamps we had, these are much more focused with the light, but they're so bright they actually do better at lighting up the same amount of area. Not bad at all for installing - easy plug in for white/black wires... but nothing simple for the grounding wire... easy to fix though.... Supposed to last 22 years... so hopefully we'll be replacing the ceiling before the lights... we'll see! March 1, 2013
