Answer:
I've been purchasing these lights for 20 years for several building, they use to be made by Cooper Lighting. They always go bad in one way or another (you can count on this), usually they always stay on day & night.

Answer:
Burning on the lens will eventually convince the photocell it is dark and keep the light burning night and day. I am unsure if a replacement photocell is sold. Our experience with this fixture is a life of about five years, which, considering the price, is acceptable.

Answer:
To determine the functioning status of the photocell, turn the light off by shining a flashlight into the photo eye (which will turn the light off). If this does not work, then the photo sensor
is defective.
If this is the case, please review the warranty information for the product for information on returns/replacements.

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 41 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk! Stay away. I have gone through 4 of these in the past year. Either they stay on 24 hours a day or they turn on and turn off after a few minutes. I had purchased this item in the past but it always fails within a year. Stay away there are better products out there. July 7, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by after a year and a half it quit working The first light I had like this lasted 17 years, cant go wrong with that. So I bought another one. After a year and a half The photo cell went out. Lucky I bought a direct fit replacement for $10. Now it looks like the starter inside the fixture is not working, because it won't light unless I tap on the starter. Well now I am looking for a starter, ' haven't found one yet. I paid over $70 for this because I wanted something I could depend on. I didn't want to buy cheap off shore products because of quality concerns. March 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dusk to Dawn Light I replace an old light for a friend with this one. I hope the sensor continues to work. I have had a lot of trouble with the dust to dawn and also the motion sensors not lasting more than 6 months. February 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Heed the Warnings! I've bought two of these within 4 years. They just don't last very long. I just purchased a replacement because it's winter (dark at 5 p.m.) and Lowes didn't have anything equal to this style. This time, I will do more research online and purchase a replacement ahead of time. January 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent, Durable,High Quality & Built to LASST ! Purchased this to replace one I had installed 14 years ago, during remodel/addition. Built to last for many years to come. I was however quite disappointed while shopping though. Stopped to ask an employee ( electrical department ) if I might find more high pressure sodium bulbs elsewhere. He stated that within a couple of years you won't even be able to find these bulbs available. I certainly hope this is NOT the case. With what has happened w/ incandescents recently though, I feel a sense of uncertainty for the future. November 3, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great for high electric bills! Pretty much the same as everyone else. Ended up putting in a standard light switch to control it after repositioning the thing to get "more" light. Can't return it or exchange it now since its been 4 months. Apparently "dawn" isn't until 11:00 & dusk is once the sun is hidden by the house (5-6PM) and if it's cloudy - forget it!! STOP SELLING THIS JUNK ESPECIALLY AT $100 BUCKS! Least with the switched control, I can walk out to the garage and shut the thing off - and inconvenience myself again in the evening to turn it on..... Manufacturer cares less! October 11, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay away from this one About one year ago we put one on the front of the garage and one on the back. A year later, both lights are dead. Bought replacement bulbs, no luck. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!! November 2, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Same Problem Will only go off in bright sunlight. A sensitivity adjustment is definately needed. Guess i will just put a plug on it and plug it into a timer. October 7, 2015
