My electrical box is not centered over my dining table. It is actually to one end. I would like this light but need to be able to wire it from the end/not the center.

Answer:
I just installed this light last night. There are three sets of knockouts which will allow you to mount the light with the electrical box at either end or in the center. If you have the box at the end, you will need to extend the three wires (hot, neutral and ground). Took me about 20 minutes to extend the wires and get everything hooked up.

How bright are the lights?

I have a 12x12 kitchen which has an older fluorescent ceiling light with 2 bulbs and the ballast is going out. This fixture is 48 inches long.

I need light and do not want to purchase LED light because they are expensive and go out in a few years and no way to replace the bulbs.

So my question is, Does this light put out enough light for my kitchen?

Customer Reviews

Artisten 2-Light Bronze Fluorescent Ceiling Light is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 74.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate buying things like this online! Arrived with the lens broken in pieces. Very flimsy, the way the lens mounts in the fixture is setup for failure. Glorified shop light. Too expensive for what you get. Had to return to store after I called customer service to return they told me to leave it outside and UPS would pick it up in 5 - 7 business days and I would be credited 5 - 7 business days after they pick it up. Never again!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's ok, simple. We needed a light in our laundry area that was bright. So we looked for fluorescent choices. There are not many updated looks. But this one is ok and is pretty bright.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent replacement Replaced two other lights purchased from same store, different brand. Should have read those reviews first. Those gave us nothing but problems, T-8 bulbs turned on and off on their own. These lights work great and T-5 bulbs are cheaper and just as bright. Replacing was easy by using existing toggle bolts from previous lights but did have to drill two new holes for each fixture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly As Advertised I replaced my square wooden ceiling light box in my 20 yr old kitchen I didn't want the expense of installing can lights so this was my second choice. My handyman installed the light fixture and said that it was easy. It looks fine and works fine. I saw another fixture of the same type which had more scroll work on it making it more attractive and 3X as expensive but the reviews for it unanimously said it was poor quality so I bought this one due to consistently positive reviews. I have better and brighter kitchen lighting without looking so outdated.
