None with mine. A white diffuser would reduce the reflective quality and light produced from the polished aluminum surface.

Just don't try to use the new Phillips InstantFit LED bulbs. They worked in several different Home Depot fixtures (2, 4 and 6 bulb), but not in this diamond plate model.

Hi Tiby, this fixture uses a Bi-pin design bulb. This fixture take a 32 watt 48 inch bulb.
Other than that, the difference would be in the brightness and color rendering of the bulb.
So yes you can use different T8 bulbs provided they meet the specs above.

One mounted with chains and the other is flush mounted directly to the bottom of my top work bench self. But you have to modify the light or drill a hole to flush mount it because the power cord comes out of the top.

I have surface mounted several of these. They rattle a bit if there is heavy foot traffic above, especially when mounted under an unfinished ceiling. Under a finished ceiling they do not require shims. It is worth surface mounting to save space if there is no foot traffic above.

Shop lights that are designed to hang by a chain are generally not designed for surface mount. There are two reasons. The first is that they usually don't have mounting holes installed. The second is what drives the first, and that is heat. Shop lights aren't designed to limit surface temperature to levels required for surface mounting. Answer:
These lights come with a 5' chord (3 prong). They are designed to be plugged into an outlet, so they can be installed in parallel using a duplex outlet. They cannot be installed in series, or daisy chained, because they are not direct wire devices. This would also cut the supply voltage in half and wouldn't work.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by How did this get CSA approval?? 0 Stars!! Extremely poorly made. I would say that the sheet metal that they used as tin foil, but that would be giving tin foil a bad name. The sockets are so flimsy that they are not strong enough to hold the bulb in place. Seriously, how cheap does something have to be made that it won't even support the weight of a light bulb?? Stay away at all costs. April 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Better than expected I have had this for about 8 years now and it still works great. The only disappointment is that the diamondplate is plastic, but that's ok since it's for aesthetics only. Produces good light, but recommend 2 of them for a 2 car garage. August 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Shop lights This light was perfect for my garage. I purchased four of them for my 3 car garage. The bare aluminum reflects the light very well. It was a great value for the price and the low weight of the light with bulbs. My son-in-law liked them so much he bought a pair. They look really cool if you have any diamond plate light switches, or plug covers. In the photo you can see one of my lights installed. However it was so bright I had to turn it off to take the picture. December 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works as expected and Easy to install. This product is as expected. For $30 it wasn't the strongest of material for diamond plate body, but it works for what it is intended. Looks awesome in the garage. Moses October 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Diamond Plate Shop Lights Macho, Manly good looks. Brilliant chrome reflection and bright light. I now have 9 of these and no problems. Probably will end up with a couple more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Diamond plate light Very bright and good for the money. We love the diamond plate design perfect for our garage. May 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Incredibly poor quality!! I bought several of these for my garage and workshop. In less than a year I have had to replace each one of them as they keep failing. Thanks Home Depot!! April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I'm Buying 3 More I bought three of these over 2 years ago: 1 to mount in my work bench (see photo) and 2 for garage lighting. I have had no problems with these lights or with bulbs burning out. They have worked perfectly. They were easy to install and did not require me to fix them as I installed them as some have reported. Maybe I'm just blessed. But I also read the instructions before beginning the installation and didn't manhandle the lights as I worked with them. I have hit the hanging lights with 2 x 4s a couple of times and with the cab of my truck once (it was hanging too low) and they still work fine. February 13, 2015
