Customer Questions & Answers

Does this baffle have the led lights in it or is it just the baffle and does it have the friction blades with it to keep th\e baffle in the can

Asked by: yourdaddi13
Baffle w/LED light. No, it does not use friction blades to secure the the trim/bulb to the can. Uses the "bars" (not sure this is the correct terminology) which goes in the two slots on the inside of the can. A MUCH better means of support.

Are these made of metal?

I have the new GE LINK bulbs. They won't stay connected according to GE because the "Cans" are made of metal. Are these metal or plastic?
Asked by: Ken
It shouldn't matter. You aren't going to put a bulb into this. The LED is already integrated into this with the trim. This is an LED module which goes into a 5-6 inch recessed fixture.

does this come with the housing/can as well? if not, what can is compatible?

Asked by: vanda
No. You need to install either a "New" Construction or "Remodel" can. Mine were installed in a 6" can. I believe you install these in a 5" or 6" can.

Customer Reviews

E-Series 5 in. and 6 in. Matte White Recessed 3000K LED Baffle Module is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lights! I have been researching These LED conversion lights and witnessed the prices dropping to what a normal person could afford. Bought these on sale (2) and installed both in my utility room. They are very bright but that is what I wanted when I am doing laundry. For other areas of the house I would not choose the 3000 but would go to 2700 with dimming capability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent item and great price! Got these on sale in my local store for $15 ea. The 3000k is brilliant. I put four in my bedroom. The color is a very bright white, not what some people might like in their bedroom though. Installation was tremendously easy. These include the socket adapter since this is a retro fit kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bright instant light! I replaced the CFL R30 bulbs in two 6" cans w/these trims/ LED lights. Wonderful improvement! Instant full brightness and the color temp (3K) is perfect IMO. (The CFL version bulbs were much more on the "red" end of the spectrum, rated as "warm white" 2700K) I also really like the bars that are used to secure this trim/light to the can. Very secure. (MUCH better than the "springs" used to hold up the trim previously used.) Finally, I trust this manufacturer (Lithonia Lighting) to put out a good/reliable product. They have good customer support as well. I highly recommend you give these some serious consideration. If they don't work out to your expectations you can always return to your nearest HD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these We love these. We tried 2700s and 4000s on a couple brands then I found these I grabbed a couple at $10 a piece. We needed 40 of them so these saved us a lot. The light is perfect to us it's not yellow but not annoyingly bright. They dim smoothly and don't flicker(we have proper led dimmer switches). My favorite thing about them is the baffle is nice looking they sit tight against the wall and look sleek not plastic looking. Shop around because a ny HD had them for $15 and they were $10 in a nj HD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase Took me less than than 1/2 hour to remove the old can light bulbs/housing - and install 6 of these in my kitchen. Added a dimmer switch as full ON is full BRIGHT. With the dimmer, I can adjust the amount of light and they are going to look great when the entire kitchen remodel is complete. Great product, highly recommend. Very easy installation to replace the traditional can lights.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good alternative light replacement We purchased about 30 of these lights and replaced our existing bulbs/trim. They are a clean look, operate well. They don't dim as low as an incandecent bulb which sets a different mood, but overall I'm very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from LED Baffle Modules All in One LED, very nice. Easy to install, I especially liked how the wires holding it in the bracket were good and firm, to insure a tight fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very surprised at light output for the price! I have (7) 5" cans in my kitchen with trim baffles that limit me to 50 watt bulbs. I have been using 60 watt halogens because my local big box stores do not stock PAR20 short necks in 50 watts. Brightness has always been an issue especially at the 50 watts. Been waiting for LED retrofits for 5" housings and these showed up in my store at $15 which was the price point I have been waiting for. I bought (1) module several months ago as a test because I was unsure if the brightness was going to be much of an improvement since the LED lumen output of 687 was only slightly higher than the halogen lumen output of 660. I noticed an immediate improvement in brightness after installing the LED module. The big difference is attributed to the even output of light from edge to edge of the LED module compared to the halogen and it is much more effective at getting light down to the floor than a halogen of nearly equal lumen output. I'm curious to see the photometric pattern for this module. Bought more modules to do the rest of the kitchen. After installing the second module and checking the brightness, I determined that I will need to add a dimmer. Unfortunately, 3 of the modules I purchased were missing the socket adapters so it's back to the candy store. It's not the most efficient retrofit module at 58 lumens per watt but the price more than makes up for the efficiency shortfall. The CRI is also lower but the color output is darn near identical to the halogens. Can't wait for 4" modules at $15.
