Answer:
Since this model is apparently not available without the holes in the reflectors, it would not be suitable for that use. You would need to choose a different model which is available without the holes in the reflectors and is therefore, suitable for mounting directly on the ceiling.
If you want to illuminate the garage, the plastic wrap arounds are probably the best choice.

Answer:
This is a high bay fixture so unless the carport is very tall, this wouldn't be a good fixture for this application.

Answer:
Depending on the height of your carport the quantity recommended can vary. For a 25x26 carport with a 10-15ft ceiling, we would recommend 2 fixtures. For 25x26 carport with a 20-25ft ceiling, we would recommend 3 fixtures.

Answer:
Regarding THC support answer it is incorrect the fixture with the red and black wire has a dimming option so it is not the same as the fixture with only black you're misunderstanding the question there was obviously a change in the fixture and sorry to say I am not able to obtain that type of fixture anymore very sad about this

Answer:
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot, Jeff. Unfortunately we cannot order these fixtures and specify a red wire option. The wiring is the same, the wiring color is the only change. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

At 20' you might consider the T5 lamps. I would recommend lowering the lamps if possible. Read Less

Answer:
You will need 18 fixtures for your application in a 3x6 arrangement. You can use chain hangers to adjust the height and location as needed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best lamp set I have found Home Depot no longer stocks this unit in the stores. I have noticed they are pushing LED lamps. I have a 40x60x10 pole barn (no windows) and after numerous other lamp sets this is the brightest I have found. I am putting them up on a 6' x 6' matrix and this gives about 1000 lumens at 4' above floor (near day light). I have half of what I need and will order the rest soon before they are discontinued. I plan on using the space less than 6 hours a day and can not justify the cost of LED lamps, regardless LED's are not at the point of giving enough lunens even at twice the price. September 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New lights for the shop Worked great for the shop. Installed easy Wish they came with the hanger attachment for use to hang with chains. September 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by What a disappointment. I bought my fixture for my garage and with the 6 tubes it created more than enough light to work on my Harley at night or do whatever. I also mixed tubes; 4 "blue" tubes and 2 "red" tubes. That was just in case I wanted to start some vegetable seedlings before Spring came. Mixing the 2 wavelengths of light simulated natural sunlight better than putting all 6400K blue tubes in. All blue is too bright with all of the chrome on my Harley anyway; a little red glow made her think there were hot biker babes in there with me. That makes everything about a Harley behave herself, and keeps me honest too. After about a year, the lamp would grow dim; every one of the 6 tubes. Then it would brighten up. No rhyme or reason. This went on during the entire 2nd year of ownership. I had it up high at about 8 feet in a garage that was open beam. About a week ago it just stopped working so I bought 6 new blue tubes after cleaning the fixture up. it was dusty and had a lot of small dead insects on the top of it. Put it back on the yo-yo pulleys, put the new tubes in, plugged it in, AND NOTHING! So now I'm going to try and troubleshoot it the best I can. If there's a generic procedure for testing with a multimeter, everyone is guarding it well because I can't find one shred of basic procedure anywhere. Just, it's either the transformer or the starter, and I thought these new generation of fluorescent fixtures didn't need a starter like the old fluorescent fixtures had, and those things are still around. Got one 2 tuber in my kitchen ceiling and a stockpile of starters in one of the "junk drawers" in the kitchen. If you are planning on growing tomatoes in your garage, buy a different brand. In fact, shop around for some inexpensive dual running Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium fixtures that have a lens and round opening to attach flexible ducting so you can blow cool air past the bulbs. otherwise they'll make your indoor garden too hot. Then all you do is change the bulb from MH to HPS when you want your tomatoes to "fruit.". August 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by lighting the t8 are a good light source and these high bay light have a strengthening member on top of the light that make hanging with chain very easy and stable January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really lit up my garage They are kind of expensive when you add LED bulbs but they turned nighttime in to day. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by High Bay Light Easy to assemble no cord included if wanting use with a plug in. This light needs direct connection. July 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good light but can interfere with your radio. Bought three of these fixtures for my shop (10' ceilings). They put out great light and were very easy to install. The only issue I have had is radio interference. They are on three separate light switches, so when I noticed that my DeWalt Radio was sounding fuzzy, I tracked the interference to one fixture. I checked all of the connections and they were tight. I called Lithonia and was told that these are considered industrial fixtures and the ballasts are not required to meet the residential interference specifications. So if you purchase this fixture you MAY have an issue with radio reception. I only have it on one, so it's not necessarily going to happen to you. November 11, 2013
