Does this emit a white colored light or yellow colored light?

I bought a similar light previously and then had to replace the new bulb because all my other yard lights are white, and the new one was yellow. So I'd like to get the right one the first time this time.

Answer:
You have a high pressure sodium lamp which while energy efficient produces a yellow light. If you don't like the yellow color you need to switch the fixture to one rated for a metal halide lamp which has a white color. You just can't change bulbs, you will need a new fixture.

Answer:
The Metal Halide light in this fixture produces a crisp white light. That is why I chose it over the High Pressure Sodium fixtures that give off a yellowish light.

Answer:
I am unfamiliar with type and mounting dimensions of the light arm that you already have in place; therefore I cannot say either way that the Lithonia fixture will mount correctly/safely.
I recommend that you bring in the old fixture that you had on the arm and bring it into your local Home Depot. From there you can match up the mounts on the fixtures, and if they're the same then the mount should work Read More

Answer:
You might have a defective light. Talk to the Service desk at Home Depot and they may replace the whole light. It should not do that. The only time my light goes out is if there is lightening in the area. The lightening lights up the night sky, and the light thinks it's daylight, so it shuts off for a minute, but comes back on after the lightening stops.

Answer:
MY LIGHT IS CYCLING OR STROBING? – This is an indication that the photo sensor is receiving light reflection and the sensor or fixture needs to be adjusted. Also, it could be the lamp that is at its end of life cycle or the lamp is bad and it is burning out.

I've installed at least 4 of these at one location on my farm and they continue to fail. The best lasted 1.5 yrs while the last one lasted less than one month. It appears as if its trying to start and shuts off; over and over all night. I'll never get another one of these and you shouldn't either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a Good Purchase at ALL!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT. Same Issue. Bought it, installed it, high above ground on (not fun at all). Worked great for about 2 months, now just flickers on and off throughout the night. Very annoying and inconvenient to have to replace it.

All are going on 28 years. They cycle in eve and off in am. I had to change one light bulb twice due to light not coming on about 6 years ago and the second this month due to ants. Last month, ants got into transformer and shorted it out burning up transformer. I purchase replacement transformer for $20. plus and it was an easy install (2 screws) and 3 wires. The transformers included are very, very cheap and not heavy duty at all. The ones on my barn are cycled via a switch so in 28 years have been turned on about 8,000 times (on and off 16,000) and my back yard light (the one ants got into has worked for over 20,000 cycles before transformer went up. It is SUPER important NOT TO OVER WATT THESE TRANSFORMERS by putting in a bigger bulb than designed for. If you want to extend life of transformer buy a unit rated for 150 watts and install a 100 watt bulb. This cuts down on the heat in the transformer and extends it life. And save the 150 watt bulb as a replacement bulb. Bulbs can be purchased for around $10.00 on the internet if you look for metal halide bulbs. Get an open bottom cover. Bulb "grabbers" are about $14.00 on the net. You attach "grabber" to a ten foot PVC pipe, "grabber" slips over bulb and you unscrew and replace bulbs that are 15 feet high. This may be a inexpensive light but it can all so out perform higher priced lights.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy it!!!!! Installed seven of these fixtures on the exterior of my business about a year and half ago. Very pleased with the light output and ease of installation, BUT......... One started flickering on and off after just a couple months, but I just ignored it. Now, not one of them is working any more. I have tried replacement bulbs, but that is not the problem. I did not price other fixtures before buying these, but I should have known they would not last. So Home Depot, I have seven fixtures that either need a ballast or starter replacement/repair, or I just break down and go buy something new, that is made in USA and made to last. I am actually on this page, because I am searching for replacement ballasts for these fixtures.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought 5 Fixtures - ALL Failed in Just a Few Months!! I bought 5 of these for an apartment community. Within months they all started flickering and working intermittently. Mostly not working. These are up on 2nd stories and I pay an electrician big $$ to install. What a waste. I got what I paid for. Never ever buy these!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from junk This is no GOOD don't buy, it will not stay working, I have two of them I got six month ago and both are out.
Date published: 2012-10-27
Rated 1 out of 5 by from should have read the reviews first... I should have reviewed the ratings first, would have saved me the trouble. After about 3 weeks, it bit the dust already. Now I have the flu and its going to be miserable doing the replacement work once I find a light that actually holds up and does what its supposed to. Home Depot shouldnt be selling junk like this. Im definitely sorry I bought this brand.
