Does this emit a white colored light or yellow colored light?

I bought a similar light previously and then had to replace the new bulb because all my other yard lights are white, and the new one was yellow. So I'd like to get the right one the first time this time.

Answer:
You have a high pressure sodium lamp which while energy efficient produces a yellow light. If you don't like the yellow color you need to switch the fixture to one rated for a metal halide lamp which has a white color. You just can't change bulbs, you will need a new fixture.

Answer:
The Metal Halide light in this fixture produces a crisp white light. That is why I chose it over the High Pressure Sodium fixtures that give off a yellowish light.

Answer:
I am unfamiliar with type and mounting dimensions of the light arm that you already have in place; therefore I cannot say either way that the Lithonia fixture will mount correctly/safely.
I recommend that you bring in the old fixture that you had on the arm and bring it into your local Home Depot. From there you can match up the mounts on the fixtures, and if they're the same then the mount should work Read More

Answer:
You might have a defective light. Talk to the Service desk at Home Depot and they may replace the whole light. It should not do that. The only time my light goes out is if there is lightening in the area. The lightening lights up the night sky, and the light thinks it's daylight, so it shuts off for a minute, but comes back on after the lightening stops.

Answer:
MY LIGHT IS CYCLING OR STROBING? – This is an indication that the photo sensor is receiving light reflection and the sensor or fixture needs to be adjusted. Also, it could be the lamp that is at its end of life cycle or the lamp is bad and it is burning out.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great light Have had this light for several years now. Just had to replace the bulb for the first time. Lights the whole alley. Just as bright as the lights the city uses. Very happy with this lighting system. Would buy it again if the ballast failed and had to buy another. Sorry everyone else seems to have trouble with it. There is always a lemon in every bunch. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DON"T BOTHER.........read the reviews Installation was easy enough. Installed this light back in October of 2015 and I checked on it last night (December 20,2015) and it is malfunctioning already. Goes on for a few minutes and then shuts off and continues this sequence until you are tired of looking at it. Access to the light is not easy, so when I go back to work on it, I will have a replacement, but it will not be this brand. I'm a mechanic by trade, and I am not wasting my time of trying to Band-Aid junk. December 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bad investment bulb keep going out every few months very bad investment metal halide bulb keep going out every few months and it is 30$, go with other cheaper type bulbs August 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Why Bother Selling this Problem not cast aluminum, pot metal, thin, cracked down back side, cracked along side gusset, OVERPRICED, for same amount I found heavier windings on ballast, heavier CAST ALUMINUM housing, tube arm for up and away mounting with all hardware and uses both Mercury vapor and Multi vapor bulbs 175 W, larger diameter cover with heavier sheet aluminum that I could tear with my fingers. DON'T spend more than $25.00 for this item and don,t think its a bargain if you do find it for $25.00. I was embarassed to show it to a friend and since I bought it for a Disabled neighbor, we both agreed a product this poor out of the box was going to be a problem forever September 22, 2009
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk just junk! Brought 14 of these to put on my buildings. Worked fine for a month then started going off and on all night spending a lot of time in the off mode. The bulb would try to start but could not. Tried to get replaced under warrantee by the manufacturer but they would not help. The lights have got to a point in 90 days that seldom one comes on. Went and brought new bulbs yesterday that fixed a few for now. I paid a electrician over $2000 to install these now I need to get a different light. Don't go near this manufacturer even if the product was free which it is not. These all failed in 90 days. August 16, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great, works great, DOESN'T LAST! Bought this light to replace a unit that had been in service for 23yrs (replaced 1 photo-eye in all that time); cost $74 plus $40 to have it installed (I can't deal with ladders); the light looks great, it did work great (for a while) but after 1yr it started coming on for about 8-10mins, then be off for 20mins to 1/2hr or more; not bad photo-eye, not bad bulb, the unit itself was not meant to last (1yr of service for this import vs 23yrs for the American made workhorse). WARNING! Do not buy this product... you'll be delighted at first, but you'll end up like myself one year later writing this unfavorable review. January 17, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the trouble. This Light replaced one that was up almost 10 years that finally went out. I installed the oal12 100m 120 on July 10th 2012 it started cycling on and off every 2 minutes or sometimes less than that after 1 week, returned it to the store for a second light now it’s August 5 2012 and the replacement light is cycling on and off just like the first one that only lasted a week I’m done with these lights. This light is mounted 25 feet up on the ridge of the roof so it’s not much fun to replace and I will not replace lights every week or two. I will only give this light 1 star only because the light that is put out was nice while it lasted and I think the transformers are cheap junk. August 5, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by These lights work fine! I dont know what everyone is talking about. i installed 10 of these a year ago on a small shopping center for my boss and with the exception of one (someone shot the bulb with a bb gun) they are all still burning fine. to i believe it is frank(?) you dont need a new ballast starter etc.. if replacing the bulb wont do it then 99% of the time it is just the photocell on top. twist it lift it out and put in a new one. they are fairly cheap. they are all over the apartment complex i work at as maintenance supervisor. with one exception (plastic around photocell got brittle and shattered) i have gotten every single fixture up and running with either a new bulb and/or a photocell. just remember folks.. this isnt a high dollar product. you get what you pay for. some of you might have negative experiences, but i have not.
