Will the battery be damaged if power isn't restored in 90 min? Can the light be turned off manually?

Can this be wired to power a 3rd light?

Asked by: Dylanslx
I would imagine it could be done however that would void any warranty, might overload the circuitry, and at the very least would diminish the period of time that the light would operate in an emergency due to power draw and battery condition. If it is to be used in a commercial application I would believe such a modification would be illegal or at the least an insurance liability not to speak of the fact that if you did this it would be experimental and any faulty results would completely lie with you. My opinion would be to buy a second light and install it as desired.

Do i have to hard-wire this light or can i stick it up and let it run on battery using motion detector & change battery when needed?

Asked by: DIYlandlord
Good Day, the ELM2 LED is an emergency lighting fixture and must be hard wired to constant power to keep the battery charged. It cannot be wired to a motion detector for it is an emergency lighting fixture and will only illuminate when there is loss of power. Thank You for your inquiry

Quantum 2-Light White Integrated LED Emergency Light is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 22.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fire standard codes This product was required to maintain the fire safety code of the new teen center in our community. The installation of the lights was quite easy to hang from the ceilings and the walls. When the power was cut to test them, the lights of each unit came on spreading life saving light over the large floor areas with enough light to evacuate the building. I do not know how they would fare if the smoke in the area got thick and black but I do believe they will be adequate for our kids to get to he nearest escape door. My son is in charge of this facility and his life would also be in jeopardy so I trust them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MASTER KILOWATT The price is good and it being an LED fixture, it will last for a very long time. LED uses much less power consumption than standard lighting. As far as any difficulties in getting it mounted, such as knocking out the mounting and electrical access holes, using the proper tools and common sense will make it easy. For those who don't know, the orange wire (277VAC) is only used when the fixture is being installed in a commercial building that has a 3-phase, 277/480-volt electrical service. So you just cap off the orange wire and use the black wire for the hot wire, for a (normal) 120-volt application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Safety Product Light has power leads for 120/277V input. Home owners should use the 120V input. The 277V input is used in commercial facilities that have 3-phase, 480-volt power where phase-to-ground voltage is 277V (commonly used for lighting circuits). It has nothing to do with "foreign" voltages.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Emergency Light for the Electrical Closet The light was purchased for the emergency light in our electrical closet. It is not too big and not too small. I had a professional install it.
