Answer:
You can ceiling mount them with a securely mounted 4" gang. The only thing that may be an issue is the limited movement of the lights which may project the light downward more so than will work for you.

Answer:
Yes, they can be ceiling mounted. Unless you point the lights straight down, you may have to adjust the orientation by using different knockouts on the back plate to get the light just where you want.

Answer:
Yes. But the battery pack is not wired into the device. When you are ready to install the device you simply plug in the battery pack. The directions clearly show you how to do this.

Your answer is incorrect. The one you refer to is the ELM2 or Quantum. I am interested in the original ELM fixed lens krypton lamp.http://homedepot.ugc.bazaarvoice.com/answers/1999m/687440/photo.jpg

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice quality light This light is replacing the older incandescent version, which was notorious for bad circuit boards. After replacing several of these, I found that they recalled the old circuit boards due to fire risks. These are very easy to install- it only takes 5-10 minutes. July 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Safety Product Light has power leads for 120/277V input. Home owners should use the 120V input. The 277V input is used in commercial facilities that have 3-phase, 480-volt power where phase-to-ground voltage is 277V (commonly used for lighting circuits). It has nothing to do with "foreign" voltages. August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Emergency Light for the Electrical Closet The light was purchased for the emergency light in our electrical closet. It is not too big and not too small. I had a professional install it. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good and works well The light looks good it has more of a modern look than the old box type - was very easy to install (the instructions actually are easy to follow) and the fixture works well the lights are very bright. April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by True white! So happy to find this product at Home Depot after much searching for an actual white color. Most emergency lights we found were a cream or yellowish color and looked old. March 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality product Very easy installation. Easy instructions and minimal effort. January 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It works I bought this unit to shed some light on my cellar stairs and service panel when hit with a power failure to facilitate the connections to my standby generator. On the unit itself I expected to find a a black (hot), white (neutral) and a green or copper ground. Instead, I found a black, a white and an orange sheathed wire marked 277VAC. After scratching my head a few times I realized that this orange 277VAC wire was likely a alternate hot lead used for non U.S. residential grids and just capped it. Secondly, getting the mounting knockouts out without damaging the thing was like pulling healthy teeth from a fully awake subject (not a trivial task). The instructions left much to be desired. If they were a bit more thorough they would have been a bit more helpful doing the installation. It was not obvious to me at all that the hot and neutral wires tied to the mounting plate did not have to be individually pigtailled to the unit itself so once again, I found myself scratching my head trying to figure out how the power was supposed to be tied to the battery pack/lights. I reasoned that there were two possibilities: 1- my unit was missing some wires or 2- there was a stealthy plug connection between the two that mated when the two parts were snapped together. Fortunately it was the latter rather than the former. The directions could have highlighted this fact. All in all, the unit works as advertised and it will will do the job I needed done so I would recommended it to a friend. September 14, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad You need to have some knowledge of wiring as this unit can also be set up for high voltage seen in Euopean Residences. December 29, 2015
