CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Enough is enough We've renovated two houses over the past several years. Wherever we needed basic fluorescent utility lighting (garages, basements) we've ended up trying Lithonia, because that's what they sell at Home Depot. Having bought about a dozen Lithonia fixtures over the years, I'd say about 50% come out of the box missing parts - screws, wire nuts, other things - and about 80% are just really badly made - knockouts don't actually knock out, wires just break off, or the fixture just comes apart in my hands. Literally. Cheap can be useful or useless. Lithonia is more often than not useless. Save yourself time and frustration - don't use these. September 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price for a 8 foot fixture Got these to replace old fixtures in church office that used 8' lamps. Much brighter than before. I found out you could remove any number of lamps and fixture would still operate, since the lamps are wired in parallel. You couldn't do that with the old fixtures. I called the manufacturer and was told this would not damage the fixture. Other reviews said the sheet-metal was lightweight but once installed, who cares? One warning-the first fixture I bought had missing parts and found out it had been returned by previous customer. Check the contents before you leave the store. All in all a pretty good deal if they hold up. May 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great solution for garage lighting Installed 3 of these lights in an unheated garage, fitted them with GE Cool White Premium Cool White (model 73899 purchased at a HD competitor) bulbs and controlled them using a Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensor Switch. Very pleased with the results; instant on, good color rendering (bulb choice), quiet ballasts. Assembling the pieces (sockets, end cap, covers) was a bit of work but manageable and the sheet metal flexs a lot until it is mounted (typical). I second another reviewer's comment that installing the retaining clip for the cover was a real challenge. Bottom line: I'd buy more and recommend the product to others. Everything worked out of the box, no missing or broken parts. November 7, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good unit at good price I've gradually replaced all the old fixtures in my shop with these, and they install easily and work well. The new Phillips tubes are really nice to work with, snapping into place firmly; much better than the old style fluorescents. I've was advised to go to LED during my upgrade, but it doesn't look like the economics make sense. Modern fluorescents are trouble-free, and very inexpensive compared to LED. Maybe that will change as time goes on, but at the moment, I'm very happy with these units. June 16, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Installation Guide The "installation Guide" provided on the web site has nothing to do with "installation". The information is an 'assembly instruction" for putting the lamp together. An "installation guide would show the method to mount the lamp to the ceiling and hook up to an electrical box. I assume the lamp has some type of mounting holes and suggested use of wall anchor or toggle bolts and how many to support the weight? May 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good quility and best price easy installation, good quality and best price.highly recommend. May 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TANDEM 4-LIGHT FLUSH MOUNT just a decent cheap light strip, I have lots of these in my garage my moms garage and our rental shop, only had one go bad out of about 30 and it lasted about 4 years April 7, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Limited Ballast Life As did a number of others, I installed a number of these into a 3-car garage shop. In fact, I installed 7 of them in tandem runs of two or three in a line. The result was almost-shadowless, even, and bright shop lighting. The downside? The ballasts. These fixtures are little more than a few feet of wire, some painted sheet metal and the ballasts. I've now had two of the ballasts fail. Mine is a hobby wood-working shop, so these haven't had years of full time, daily use. In fact, the two ballasts failed before I've had to replace a single one of the 28 T8 tubes filling these fixtures, about five years after installation. The ballasts are an unknown, off-brand built in Mexico. Replacing them isn't difficult, but will cost about twenty bucks a unit for a good GE ballast if you do it yourself. Since that's half the new price after only a few years of part-time use, the units aren't a long-term bargain. So, I got what I paid for. With the new and upgraded ballasts, I don't expect to have to touch them again. But I know that the rest of the ballasts will have to be replaced too, and that will add significantly to the original purchase cost. December 21, 2012
