Answer:
Ground wire is bare wire from your house wiring and goes to green screw or any metal part of fixture. The wiring info is on ballast inside fixture and is a little confusing. Long wires go to either far end and there is no way to get them wrong. Both blues go to bulbs on one end and red go to other pair. (A pair of bulbs are side by side not end to end). Black and white go to lights black and white. Most Read More

It will unplug from itself and you simply match color and push STRIPPED wires into holes on plug and plug back into lights wires. Read Less

Answer:
The output is 32 watts per bulb times 4 or roughly 128 watts. A 20 amp home circuit can operate well over 2000 watts worth of lights or equipment. A dozen of these would run easily on one home circuit.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 26 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great lights Easy to install and very bright light. Lights up my new shop great. June 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Its not possible to edit a review? I haven't found a way to edit/add to a previous review. So my updates are here in this second review. The Lowes fixture I referred to previously (below) indeed costs $40 but is not comparable to this fixture. It uses 4 T8 lamps in tandem, but is only 2 3/4" wide. The lamps in that fixture are therefore quite close together. The steel chassis of this fixture is wider and better. No further info on the quality of the ballast in ether fixture. March 18, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by marginal ballasts I have purchased a number of these fixtures (more than 10) directly from Home Depot retail store(s). Ballast quality is marginal, with approximately 10% of ballasts failing in less than 2 years. Lowes has a comparable fixture selling for $40 that supposedly has a ballast warranted for 5 years. We shall see. Jim March 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bright light Nice light, I bought to replace a old one the ballast burnt. March 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 8 foot lights The lights were complete and very easy to install. They put out great light for a 25 X 40 garage using 6 fixtures. March 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Lighting for the money small office used this for, good light for the price February 11, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does not last I use them in my garage so they are turned on and off quite a bit. I just had 3 burn out after about 2 years and I am going on my 2nd set of lights. I am hoping for a quality LED replacement. I don't know if the on and off is killing the ballasts. November 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good workshop Lighting I bought 12 of these for my shop in 2010. Easy to install and wire up. No issues other than flimsy but adequate Chinese construction. I have had two ballast failures so far. That is 17% in almost 5 years. My previous shop had T12 lighting and had only one failure in 15 years. September 13, 2015
