Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by muleskr I have purchased three of these units in the last two years. one for my patio, one for my shop and one for a good neighbor. These units really throw out the lite. It is well constructed and easy to install. As a retired Electrical Contractor, I would recommend this fixture for any DIY'er.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ProElectrician Purchased 6, all were junk in a few months.
Bought 6 of these Wall-Mount Outdoor Metallic Fluorescent Area Lights for inside a building.
We taped over the photo sensors and connected them to a wall switch.
They worked fine for a few months.
None were exposed to any rain or bad weather.
These lights took a long time to turn on in cold weather, starting out very dim and after about 10 minutes were up to full output.
All fixtures failed within a 6 months.
The special 65 watt mogul base Florescent bulbs (larger diameter screw type base than a household bulb) do not have a ballast built into them and are $14.00 to replace if you can find them.
This fixture will not use standard compact florescent bulbs, nor any halogen, metal halide or low pressure sodium bulbs with the same base!
The ballast or power supply is built into the fixture and will only work with the special bulb.
We bought one bulb to replace the first one, that was not the problem.
The ballast inside the fixture failed, it is a tiny circuit board and the high voltage chip burned out.
Home depot and the manufacturer do not sell replacement circuit board ballasts.
We removed all the ballast, installed a standard base light socket directly attached to the power.
Since we did not need the photo sensor inside a building, we removed it.
We bought the standard base replaceable daylight led light bulbs and we now have working lights.
LED bulbs work in cold weather and are instant on to full brightness.
The Led bulbs are rated for 50,000 hours and have a 5 year warranty.
At least now we have a foolproof light fixture that illuminates our building very well and we did not have to totally scrap the nice metal housing. Now we can replace the bulbs in the future if they go bad, unlike many of the Integrated ( read that as built in light bulb - if they fail, replace the entire fixture) LED light fixtures that are sold at Home Depot.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Trygve I M happy
Replacing the older less efficient fixture with a new one was only a few dollars more than replacing the bulb in the old fixture. The new fixture is brighter, rated far more energy efficient and only took about 20 minutes to install.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by granny ............and then there was light!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband put up this light for security and it is amazing.I love having my yard all lit up and being able to see what is lurking out there where before it was to dark to see anything. They say that lights deter burglars. I hope this is true.I feel safer just knowing this.It illuminates my warning sign as you can see in my photo.

I ordered this on line and , I mounted it using the mounting arm. on a 25 ft high light pole. This was a replacement light that had been there for 20 years. I mounted and wired the light went down turned it on .(IT DIDN'T WORK ) I returned it to a local store and got another one . Mounted it .( DID NOT WORK EITHER) I checked and rechecked the electric wires and circuits. No problem there. I went back to the local store and returned this one . But I purchased another model this time went home tested on the ground first then put it on the pole 25 ft up and this one worked. I don't know what the problem was but it may be a bad line of lights . Since it was a fluorescent light I could not test it with a meter. I think I must have been a fool for not testing these on the ground, because at 25 ft in the air on a ladder is not a place to be trouble shooting a problem, so in 25 years I will remember this if I'm still alive
