I just put 4 of the lights on my porch. I wasn't sure how bright they would be either. The manufacturer's info indicated that 1100 lumens is not quite as bright as a 100 watt bulb and a table I found on the internet put 1100 lumens between an 80 watt and 100 watt bulb.
The bottom line is that the lights look good, provide a nice white light, and the light is bright enough that I can read a paperback Read More

I have one and I find it's too bright. And it's not dimmable...so I have to find some way to deal with it or replace it...Three would be way too bright if it's within ~10ft of each other...in my opinion...

Answer:
Unfortunately, we cannot advise on whether or not three of the OLCFMs would produce too much light for their porch. However, please note that each fixture can replace a 100W incandescent bulb.

Answer:
There is nowhere to install a sensor to this fixture but if you want to remote mount a sensor you will have to find a compatible sensor for this fixture. We do not have any recommendations. It would be strictly up to you, the customer to remote mount a sensor that's compatible with LEDs.

Answer:
According to the description that came with the product, it is to be ceiling, eave or wall mounted. Just be sure to use silicone caulk to seal it. It gives off a nice bright, but no glaring, light.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy installation The product is very easy to install if a box is already present. The led light is very bright. Light emitted is more bright white than soft white. (Day time light). If you're looking for a soft light this is not the light for you. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bright warm-white LED. Extremly bright light. Warm white LED light. Clean look. The manufacturer recommends to close a opening with silicon to avoid possible insects to get in. Have it on the front porch. Love that it uses only 17 Watt. Can keep it on all night without feeling like an energy-waster :-) February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice light! Nice light, good value, relatively easy to install, screws were a little short. April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LED light We have 7 installed lights and are very happy with the design and brilliant lighting, March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great lighting! Love it! Very nice lit up. Too expensive though, but if I love something I get it. January 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Gets tiny bugs in it I got this to replace my old porch light that I leave on all night, since the old one was a glass fixture that got bugs in it that I had to periodically clean. I figured this was sealed, and wouldn't, but it still does. December 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice bright light I needed a light for my porch ceiling that was not recessed but did not hang down more than 4 inches. This worked, is nice and bright and is a good value for the price. LED light will be economical to operate. Installation was about average - had to run to hardware store for longer screws which seems to be pretty typical for most outdoor lights I've purchased and installed lately. September 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great...very nice touch to decor Bright white light that illuminates the area perfectly. Easy to install and look great. July 28, 2015
