Answer:
The sump pump fills the bill it works flawlessly it doesn't have a float it works by water pressure by a diaphragm that senses the water level to turn the pump on and off. I would recommend this pump to fill the bill it works in a confined space without the need for a float my space measured 12 x12 x 12 and the pump fit perfectly

Answer:
Rick, Yes.. It has an integrated pressure switch. IT goes on under 7-10 inches of water weight and goes off when it releases that pressure.. I have the same sump in my pit.. I am going to buy a second as a replacement.. Better safe then sorry.. BTW. sump has been in my pit since 2002 and only took out to clean the sediment once.

Answer:
This pump has an integral diaphragm switch that turns the pump on when water is present. On the end of the cord, near the plug, is a little squeeze bulb. If you cover the hole in the bulb and squeeze it, air will move through a tube and actuate the diaphragm switch turning the pump on.

I'm looking to pump water out of my pool in order to clean the pool from top to bottom. The pool company suggested your pump to help empty out my pool but I could not find anything on product that addresses pumping out a swimming pool. Not 100% sure how many gallons my pool is since the pool came with the house but it's could be between 10,000 to 15,000 gallons. I'm assuming it might take 3 - 4 days to completely drain. Can I use this pump to drain my pool or will I damage the pump by doing this?

Answer:
This is a good quality pump that could be used to pump out a swimming pool. There is nothing unique about either pool water or this pump that make it uniquely good for that application. I will mention that this pump has an automatic switch so when the water level gets down to about 2" it will shut off, so it will not completely empty the pool. I have found people usually pump it down that low and then introduce more water to wash it.. It they need to completely empty the pool say to clean it you often have to get the last bit of water out with a shop vac, puddle sucker or some other type of vacuum pump. Read Less

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Little Pump This Little Giant 1/3 HP Submersible Discharge Pump was just what I wanted in a replacement pump. When my basement sump pump gave out this month I went online looking for a pump with a covered (internal) on/off switch. All the reviews found this Little Giant pump to be 4-5 stars and the price was very fair. So, I bought it. Easy as pie to install and it works like it should. Hopefully will last many years. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked Great from Day1 The installation was simple and the instructions were easy to follow. I had the same pump installed 10 years ago and this was a replacement. I'm hoping to get the same long lasting results this time. The price was right as I searched other sites and this was the best at Home Depot. I would surely recommend this for use as a sump pump which is what I use this for. June 7, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Little Giant SumpPump I have a sump system installed in the basement of my 100+year old house. the sumps were built utilizing the Little Giant & I have no desire to change. Kudos to Home Depot for providing access to these workhorse pumps. March 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PUMP A LITTLE NOISY EASY TO INSTALL ,WORKS OK , KEEPS LOWER WATER LEVEL THAN OLD PUMP February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great little pump Purchased this pump as back-up to 20+ year old little giant. January 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Its a sturdy little pump This little sucker has been a workhorse for years now. We moved into this rental 7 years ago and there's an indoor french drain tank that also collects the waste water from the clothes washer. The pump has worked flawlessly under heavy loads with little pieces of dirt and stone and whatever else from the clothes in the water for who knows how long before we got here. I'm off to buy another today, the case failed where the bottom plate bolts on from simply rusting through. Its squirting a tiny stream of water and won't let the pump shut itself off. Pretty good if you ask me, the pump mechanism actually outlasted the case. If they still make 'em like they used to I assure you you will be happy with this little guy. March 18, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reliable Pump Purchased to replace an older version of this pump. Fits well in our small crock, was easy to install and really pumps the water. We also replaced our check valve with the Campbell Mfg Llc 1.5" Quietsump Check Valve B-0823-15C (ordered from Amazon) to stop the loud clunk at the end of every cycle.....best thing ever! Only complaint is that the pump itself is louder than the older one. April 29, 2015
