Yes, I am 5'8" and changed easily a light bulb in 10' ceiling. My purchase of this ladder was specific to be able to do that in our home and to help reach shelves in our tall kitchen cabinets and other storage areas.

Hi Jackie,
The official maximum reach for the 6' Flip-N-Lite is 10'6". This is determined by taking the highest standing level (4') and adding 6'6" for the average reach for a person of average height (5'6"). I am confident this ladder will work for you.

My 6 foot Flip-N-Lite is on loan to my daughter so I can't provide actual step height, but they are standard step heights for a ladder (about 13.5" & 27"). The top step/platform is 41" from the floor, is meant to be a standing platform and is rated at 300 pound load capacity.

I am 5'2" tall and in my 60's and don't have any problem climbing the ladder or standing on the top step. This is absolutely the easiest ladder to open, close and carry I've ever used or owned. I highly recommend it for both men and women to use inside and outside the home. Read Less

Thank you for the answers. To me a ladder with 4 steps 12" apart is a 4 foot ladder not 6 ft, 3 steps 12" apart 3 foot, not 5 ft as Little Giant states. However that seems to be how all manufacturers state things. Glad I got the clarification.

Is there an 8 foot version - No. Reaching to change light bulbs on a 12 foot ceiling, probably not, especially if they are in recessed fixtures. The tallest Flip-N-Lite is about 6 feet overall height. The black standing platform/max working height is 41".

Online, I did check both the Home Depot inventory and the manufacturer, Little Giant, to see if an 8ft version of the FLIP-N-LITE is available. I didn't find one on either site. I've left the question with the Little Giant Customer Service Department and you could do the same. If enough requests come in they may see a market for an 8ft version. Read Less

The lean-bar across the top of the ladder has a recessed tray that is a couple of inches across and almost the full width of the ladder that will hold screwdrivers and other smaller tools but not paint cans. I checked the Little Giant web site and they do not make a paint/tool tray that is compatible with the Flip-N-Lite.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by "Little-to-Giant" Ladder Use I bought three 6' "Flip-n-lite" ladders as 2012 Christmas gifts for my son, son-in-law, and wife! Two of these ladders helped solve the problem of our family picture with members ranging in height from 3' 6" to 7' tall. We placed two of these ladders at the sides of our intended picture location, and placed our daughter & daughter-in-law on the top platform for the snap shot. January 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by marvelous ladder, easy to carry & use This ladder is wonderful. I have recommended it to all my friends. It's extremely easy to open and close & I can carry it with one hand. This is the perfect ladder for women who have no help with projects in their homes. I was ready to give up on my Xmas tree during the holidays, but with this ladder I easily decorated my 9 footer all by myself and have moved on to other projects I couldn't tackle before. I can hang curtains, change chandelier bulbs, clean gutters or anything up high without straining or struggling with a heavy ladder. I give it the highest rating possible. The manufacturer should advertise this ladder as the perfect ladder for household use. January 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use Love the fact it is light weight, yet strong. We bought the 6' version. The platform is higher than I would have liked for standing, but it is handy as a shelf to hold whatever you might need to keep near you. And I like the support bar at the top. Overall, this ladder is much easier to use than the 8' heavy ladder we had before buying this one. I do wish the rungs were a little closer together; stepping down is a bit tricky. February 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ladder is actually 4 foot tall Okay, I bought this to replace my husbands 6 foot wooden rickety old ladder. Well, we can't replace it but we kept this because of the 2 foot "hold on tight" handle that came with it and it's very light and convenient for smaller projects. He still cannot do "tall" jobs like get up into our attic (8 foot ceilings) and get high up to do some light bulbs like we thought .. so it's a 4 foot ladder with a 2 foot "handle" -- I actually bought this because it said 6 foot ladder.....it's really not until you add the 2 foot handle. Very misleading and disappointing but it is nice for "shorter" jobs. December 6, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy with this ladder Very light but sturdy. I feel very secure when I climb on this ladder and it is just the right height for my needs around the house. February 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Light and safe I was looking for something to replace a rickety old wooden ladder in the barn. This aluminum ladder is perfect. Light weight, easy to move and set up. Great for changing light bulbs in the barn (9 ft ceiling). I use it for pruning branches and vines, and will use it for picking apples this fall (the platform on top will be handy for holding a picking container). I'm 64, so safety and ease of use are top priorities. July 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect stepladder This fancy stepladder is even better than the picture. Sturdy, well made, nothing cheap about it. And it's simple to move it from room to room because it's so light. I specifically wanted something that could support 300 lbs, and needed to reach my 9 ft ceilings. Fits the bill. And the top platform for tools, tape or paint helps a lot. I'm sure they will sell a TON of these once people get to see them in stores instead of just online. Smart purchase and Highly Recommended! March 22, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I LOVE this ladder! Absolutely Wonderful! Perfect for quick tasks. I love this ladder! This ladder is so easy to use! It's lightweight, yet sturdy. I feel safe and secure even when I'm on the top rung! As an older, petite female, I find standard ladders to be way too heavy to lug around and manipulate. I love the security of the top handle which helps me climb up the ladder and maintain my balance. Also, my husband is happy that the ladder is strong enough to accommodate him with a heavy duty rating of 300 lb. May 1, 2012
